Lee Priest was inducted into the Muscle Beach Hall of Fame on Memorial Day 2022. This took place at the start of the Finals at 1pm. Most inductees leave right afterward but this was the first time that one stay for the full Finals to end which was about 4 hrs later. Lee was seen during and afterwards talking to his fans and taking pics with them. I was lucky to get a pic with him too at the end of the show. A very nice and humble champ. I was also told that he might be the last Muscle Beach Hall of Fame Inductee ever.

Lee Priest was an elite competitor, too, although not quite to the degree of Ray. He placed top 10 at the Olympia multiple times, in the era of Coleman and Yates. That is quite impressive.

I agree. However, someone (in my valley girl voice) was comparing Lee to Shawn.
No comparison. But, that also goes to show how good that era was. My God, those were the lineups. I just can't see it today. It's horrible.
You have Arnold, Haney, Yates, Coleman,
And I'd argue Shawn Ray, is the fifth best bodybuilder of all time.

Lee should have never beaten Cormier at the San Francisco Grand Prix I believe? Dexter shouldn’t have beaten Cormier either at the Arnold. They just didn’t want Cormier winning an Arnold

Well, three of those four guys that beat Cormier at the Arnold have 13 Sandows among them.

I'd rather be built like Lee than Shawn Ray, but that's just me.
In a BB comp though, yeah Ray was one of the best. Complete.
