I go lower. But I also squat 385x2. ;D
For that weight - and by own viewing standard - I'd say he just hit depth.
One inch higher, and I wouldn't give him the greenlight. But I think he just barely hit parallel.
And ultimately, that's what it's all about, right? Ed Coan was the master at just making depth, IMO.

For some garbage depth, check out Donnie Thompson's 1,260-lb suited squat from 2011:
As I said, I can squat [or was able to squat] around the 405 range with ass to the grass form, and skinny as hell legs.
Give me all that equipment and a depth requirement that high, and a bit of specialized training, and I think I could confidently get half what Donnie did there [630-lb].
