you want big arms just lower the weight, stop doing strict complete curls, and superset (get the blood in)

All we did was make Lifting apparatus (handles, pully's, bars, etc).

To be honest I dont think it does much of anything. Was just good for grades/projects back in HS.

This. I wanted one so bad when I was a kid, then I actually tried one, and they're awful, painful things. Find a preacher or do curls over an incline bench - https://s3.amazonaws.com/prod.skimble/assets/1420150/image_iphone.jpg , or similar.
