They looked so much better back in those days. The swollen "bloofy rubber-muscle suit" look is retarded.

Somebody that posts here said that they were in attendance that day. The judges gave the show to Flex, but the audience believed that Aaron was the actual winner.

One of the best to ever do it.  And probably the best triceps of all time.

There's a back dbl bi comparison online of that contest and its a wash between them

He was a bit like Kai Greene with his theatrics and was probably treated similarly

Aaaaaaaaaagh!! LOLOL!  Excellente'!

Now then...LOL...Dammit Wes...LOL!!  Superb, my brother!  ;D ;D

As for Aaron Baker I honestly think this gentleman should have been the winner in more than a few contests.   His build was superb and he was a very handsome man too.  As far as I know, when posing he never (or rarely) looked like he was constipated or angry on stage.  Always smiling, well groomed and handsome.  I have heard he became a born-again Christian. If so, I wish him well.  If not, I still wish him well.

But whole the "Batman" thing was freakin' weird and not needed for a physique of his caliber.

Aaron's arms were so great, he didn't even need to do the complete flexion of the bicep. He just need to contract to 120 degrees and it was unique and totally badass.  His chest was insanely thick and detailed when in shape. His calves are some of the best all time including among Caucasians which is insanely rare. Finally His back double biceps shot when in shape is comparable to  Ronnie, Flex, Phil and Dorian. Problem was Aaron's conditioning wasn't consistent.

That 95 show against Flex, Aaron definitely won thay show. He looked incredible.

I used to train with a pro who told me a story about Aaron Baker and going to Venice in the 80s/90s to visit the Mecca as a young lad

He said Baker had this piece of shit car, all rusted out and he had came to pick him up - I believe it was the airport or his hotel.  Batman told him to throw his bag in the thrunk and upon doing so noticed the truck so rusted out he could see the road through it...said they immediately headed toward WEST Hollywood and Batman said he had to make. a "quick stop" - they pulled up to a small home and Aaron preceded to go inside but upon doing so told the young bodubuilder to "wait" and "he'd be about 45min"

2 hours later Batman returns to the bat mobile with about 400-600 dollars - I dont think he said anything AArom just immediately went into telling him the story about how one of his gay "clients" lived in the house and really enjoyed it when Batman would straddle him naked , squat down and bust loads on his chesticles - paid rather well but Aaron had to aim to please and apologized for taking longer than expected

nice guy tho

That FDB reminded me that I always thought Baker and Cormier had similar structures, no?  And (allegedly) similar fruity party lifestyles, no?  (Got serious déjà vu writing that second sentence, for some reason!?)

Ya think? Does it matter if you can shoot ropes if you have, as Prime called it, a tiny dick?

TBH, I've tried to steer clear of as much of the minutae surrounding Matt's reproductive organs as possible

But -

I do just have to quickly say that the queasy mental image I get from some of the descriptions being bandied about make me think about some sort of underwater creature - a tiny pink baby mollusc, perhaps - it's head struggling to appear above the thick bushy pubic kelp that surrounds it on all sides - who shoots panicky long thick ropes of saline goo tinged with Anadrol towards potential attackers (such as female humans) as a defence mechanism because it lacks a shell... or something...

🤢

Sorry Matt! ;D

I think Pellius said that he was really unimpressive compared to some others when Pellius was training at Golds Gym.

Beyond fruity demeanor. Like it hurt to watch him speak due to the gayness. This is what I remember from watching some interview(s).

Someone earlier said Aaron didn't look like today's swollen creatures. Well, I remember thinking back in the day that Aaron looked like one of the most blown up bodybuilders ever up to that point. Tons of GH and insulin. Looking at pics now I still think it.

He had the famous jacked up calves. Didn't look like Synthol, more like Esiclene (when most of the supposed Esiclene guys were full of Synthol). Look at how pointy they were. Synthol doesn't do that.

Then a picture from some, I suppose, earlier shoot.

In the mid 90’s, Chris Cormier himself said that he would see Aaron Baker in the gym and Chris would say to himself: “how is this guy not Mr Olympia?”

I was surprised by Pellius' comment. But some stage freaks don't look as imposing IRL. Never saw Aaron. I remember seeing Branch Warren and he didn't look especially big just standing there in clothes and it was offseason.

Aaron Baker's breakout show: 1992 WBF Championship (3rd place, and $50,000). For all the talk about Strydom supposedly cheating the drug test, if anyone should have been accused of such, it was Baker. He was the only one who showed up BIGGER (as in more muscular in 1992 than he did win 1991).

Everyone else was smaller and/or smoother.

It was only Flex and Muscle Mag as a source then for me but Baker seemed to lost something in the last 6 to 4 weeks leading up to the show.

He was really good up until around that.
Maybe he over dieted, depeleted himself like Yates did at first couple of times.

CRINGEWORTHY...eddie guns was so bad  ,they seemed by there paychecks to make the best of it..1st year they all were great or pretty good to decent, this one was much different..

eddie robinson, guest posing shape look.legs were way down for him.

padilla considering age i guess it was ok to be way off ,good build but not for stage day..

demey looked like a good guest posing look, still his build was great esp 91 show he was stellar.

mike quinn embarrasing shape, persona, skit was so bad .

jim quinn was a beast 91/92

dearth looked small but in great shape ,looked good

baker same as dearth

morant i never got big but just not pro to me .

strydom was awesome in 91 best look he had to date, this show he was smaller /less full,he was last one out and the 3 stooges commentating heenan, mcmahon, platz were raving like he was second coming of christ.they were raving like it was 91 'look'

To put it in perspective, Baker got more for 3rd place at this WBF show than EVERY SINGLE COMPETITOR at the 1992 Mr. Olympia, except champion Dorian Yates.

Remember that the 1991 McMahon commentary on Strydom was a voiceover. I have the WBF Championship video. Mcmahon wasn't on commentary (Tom Platz and some guy named Greg Lewis call the action, as it were). In fact, he's not on the video at all. For the 1991 show footage shown on Bodystars, there's voice-over commentary by Tom Platz and/or Vince McMahon; or there's no commentary at all.

As for the 1992 show, this has to be the worse case of a McMahon PPV gone wrong, except for WrestleMania 36.

Lou Ferrigno bails; Dr. DiPasquale goes hog wild with the drug-testing. "The Phoenix", the late Vince Comeford gets pneumonia and can't compete. Lex Luger almost gets his arm ripped off in a motorcycle accident and can't do the guest posing.

I'd think you'd change your tune about Morant, if you look at how he appeared at the 1990 Night of Champions. He placed 4th behind Danny Padilla, Dorian Yates, and the late Mohammed Benaziza. He also looked better at the 1991 WBF Championship. I think "The Executioner" tried to keep his size and shows up smooth as a result.

I agree with McMahon and Platz that "The JetMan" Tony Pearson should have been in the top 5, instead of David Dearth. I could slightly buy him placing 4th over DeMey.

Pearson maintains that he was drug-free for that show and had been since the IFBB did its lone year of steroid-testing in 1990. He talked about how the WBF guys had to submit a blood test on the spot, if summoned to Titan Tower. If they popped positive, they lost a month's salary.

"Since 1990, I haven't touched anything. And there was no reason for it. You know when I was with the WBF, to make it very clear, Vince (McMahon) wasn't messing around. When he said 'blood test', he mean 'blood test'. They call you overnight. If you flunk the test, you lose your salary for the month. I didn't lose any money. I was always in shape; it was one of my best shapes, 1992, Long Beach, best shape, no drugs! I know how to train. I know my body.", proclaimed the JetMan.
