They decided not to... but crazy that they even published it in the first place. Not only do many people hate when you debate and talk about your opinions, but now, this private company wanted to 'fine' you for debating about it. Wow. The attack on 'free speech' is crazy, especially since they don't even have their own forum or place for it. It is these type of liberal woke people that need to be fired.
It is one thing when someone goes overboard in a discussion, but in America, you need to have both sides of a debate, not just one side.
PayPal has backtracked on a published policy that would have fined users $2,500 for spreading “misinformation,” claiming the update had gone out “in error.” “An AUP notice recently went out in error that included incorrect information. PayPal is not fining people for misinformation and this language was never intended to be inserted in our policy. Our teams are working to correct our policy pages. We’re sorry for the confusion this has caused,” a spokesperson told National Review in a written statement.
The policy update had appeared to authorize the company to pull a significant sum of money from the accounts of users who spread “misinformation,” among other newly listed offenses. Changes included prohibitions on “the sending, posting, or publication of any messages, content, or materials” that “promote misinformation.”

Thanks for posting this, Ron! I'm glad we can count on you to support free speech!
And yep - I just read that yesterday, as well as the backtrack.
Wow is right. Sheesh. Talk about echoes of the Chinese social credit system.

There is one thing about your own platform. But trying to fine you $ 2,500 for an opinion somewhere else because they don't 'like' it, wow.

Ha, that wasn't an error, they simply got caught. If you look at the portion of the TOS, it's a full paragraph. These TOS's must pass through multiple hands, checking and rechecking things, no way they missed it -

Maybe Ron can fine people for posting misinformation on Getbig!

Who is considered a "user" of Paypal? A vendor?
Is someone who merely pays for something with Paypal considered a "user"?
-
In Canada PayPal is our only option.
No competition.

Anyone that sends or receives money with Paypal.
Vendors/Service Providers were most nervous about it, but it was written ambiguously -

Paypal (or ANY commie-libturd Nazi's) will be infringing upon our 1st amendment (or any amendment).
They will NOT mess with, or change the constitution, no matter what under-handed NAzi tactics they try.

Does anyone else see the irony in this. Their plan to fine people for misinformation had to be pulled back because it contained misinformation.
Well, fuck you Pay Pal!

Didn't even hesitate to delete my PP acount

PP is obsolete and garbage these days. Terrible customer service and downright criminal business practices. They are allowed to operate because they kiss liberal/left ass. There's better payservices now.
