This is great training advice Johnny Marty. Where Matt really is challenged though is the dietary/eating side. Can you write him up a diet to go along with your training recommendation?

Close, lol. Top 6 in the u-80kg class [176.3-lb + we can be 3-lb overweight with a 3-hour weigh in. But I'm doing a contest in August that will have a 150-lb Circus Dumbbell for reps.
Unfortunately, the u-80kg Canadian Circus Dumbbell record has increased from 154.6-lb to 180-lb, just two weeks ago.
While I'm sure I will be able to hit 160-lb, hitting 185 is another matter. So I no longer think I will break the Canadian record. There is no doubt I will be close, but I can't be sure I can get it.
That said, I'm still training the one-arm dumbbell press pretty hard, because I have a pretty heavy contest coming up this summer, and Circus Dumbbell will be an event.
This contest is just one level below the Ontario's Strongest Man Contest, and it is an open heavyweight contest. It will be the heaviest contest I've ever done, and I only expect to get one rep per implement, lol...maybe two.
Motors & Muscles 2023
August 2023 [exact date TBA].
All events are 60 seconds. One rep with the heavier weight implement weight beats *any* number of reps with the lighter implement. For example, one rep with the 400-lb Atlas Stone beats 12 reps with the 300-lb stone.
EVENTS:
-275-lb or 365-lb per-hand [550-/730-lb total weight] Farmer's Walk for 80-ft.
-150-lb or 180-lb One-Armed Circus Dumbbell [Overhead Press] for max reps.
-660-lb or 750-lb Trap Bar Deadlift for max reps.
-950-lb or 1,100-lb Tire Flip for max flips.
-300-lb or 400-lb Atlas Stone over 40" hitching post for reps.
I expect to very narrowly complete that Farmer's Walk course. I will be very pleased if I finish it in under 55 seconds. But just finishing it t all will be good for me. But since I do expect to finish, obviously the faster I finish it in, the better, so under 55s is realistic for me, and maybe I do can a sub-50s walk, depending on how many training goes for me.
Marty Champions has informed me that using an elbow sleeve will add 20-lb to my one arm press. I don't know if that is true, but if it is, that 150-lb dumbbell will be manageable for me. I'm not sure if I'd want to risk trying the 180-lb. I'd rather get 1-2-3 reps using the 150, then risk getting a zero with the 180. But again, I'll see where my training is at the time.
I expect to get only one rep with that trap bar deadlift. It's not a super low trap bar, and my current max is 625. I should be able to bring that up to 660 by August. So one rep is fine, just to get points. As long as I don't get any zeroes on any events, I'll be happy. No chance am I hitting 750, lol. 660 is attainable though, if I compete around 180-lb body weight.
That max tire is where I am undecided on. I'd rather get 1-2-3 reps with the 950 than to miss the 1,100. It's a lot like the Circus Dumbbell press.
The difference is - I stand an outside chance of flipping that 1,100-lb tire. I once almost got it, but ended up giving up on it after 52 seconds. But I feel with some minor tweaks, I could have gotten it. So depending on how I feel, I may attempt it. But I'd be annoyed if I tried it and failed. But if I get it, one flip with the 1,100 will beat 12 flips with the 950. I've never seen anyone get over 12 flips with the 950 before. But if I get that 1,100, it could be a chance for me to make up some points on the guys who won't chance missing it. So...I'll see how training is going by then. Maybe I'll try it.
And lastly, the Atlas Stone event. I'm actually pretty good at stones...I just have a hard time lifting them over a high bar due to being under 5'10". But this is only a 40" hitching post, which will be no problem.
I can't get that 400-lb stone though. A friend of mine who is pretty light managed a 380 stone...but he's still 231-lb, which will be 50-lb over my expected contest weight. So yeah...I can't imagine getting that. But I can do the 300-lb over a 40" bar...maybe for 2-3 reps, if I'm lucky. So I'm happy it's only 40", because it becomes a strength contest rather than a height contest.
This will be a tough contest for me, and is my main focus right now.

I've never felt better, in terms of being in contest shape this far out. I should be training the Frame Carry event starting with 525-lb next week, and hopefully gradually get that up to 625-lb by contest.
I'm setting the bar high for myself...but I think I can do it.
wes was right about it being possible to get stronger over 40.
If I get through Motors & Muscles, it will be the heaviest contest I've ever done. I'm confident I could qualify for and compete in Ontario's Strongest Man...but I'm a major hypochondriac, and always worry about weighing too much. I can't justify bulking up to 230-lb, which I think is the minimum I'd need to be to compete at that level.
That's why this Motors & Muscles contest is good for me...it's an open weight class contest, but just below the OSM level [which is just below CSM, which is just below WSM].
