At yesterday's meet. (6 weeks of training for it)... Missed his 1000K goal, but hit 970.
Pretty damn good...

Hopefully the dude doesn't go risking his health further and jumps back up to 400+ lbs again just to do strongman again

He said he wont do that again. But who knows with these guys... If he goes back to Strongman, he just might..

Not very impressive. What’s the back story?

Absolutely right. I think he may have been 450 for a period. If I recall correctly, he was 205kg, which is 452-lb at 6'9".
I'm not sure what he has to prove.
At 34 years old, he could probably reverse a good portion of the abuse he put his body through, but if he keeps going, I can't see him live much past 50.
Didn't John Haack total 1,000kg recently, weighing 90kg?

Ya Thor is relatively young. I'm sure he's far from rich from his strongman career but he probably did ok. Go find something to do with the rest of your life that doesn't kill you

Do you think Thor even considers that he could be taking decades off his life?
In the "Born Strong" documentary, Eddie Hall seemed to understand that. I'm actually happy that the WSM promotion rigged it for Eddie to win - so he won, got to have the title of "World's Strongest Man", and has since slimmed down considerably.
It may have saved his life.
I think Thor's facial paralysis has gotten better, so that's good.
Thor should have made enough money, if he was smart with it. Even $2 million at 5% per year is $100,000 a year. There's no reason he shouldn't have been able to bank $2M. But it's possible he spent most of it.
Thor has great family genetics though, to be sure. He can probably sustain abuse more than most.

I guess he does fairly well from being on Game of Thrones. He got 1-million for the Eddie fight. (Saudi Boxing promotors).
I think he's just back doing this as a hobby. He as a new company that is growing world-wide as well. (Thors Skyr). (Icelandic Yogurt).
I think he does OK financially...
