Lunsford doesn't have issues getting into condition, he has issues peaking. He's been flat, he's spilled over and he's looked smooth whilst in the 212s, but he's always been lean enough. Maybe it won't be as much of an issue now in the open, but I think some of that smoothness comes down to genetics.

Lunsford doesn't have issues getting into condition, he has issues peaking. He's been flat, he's spilled over and he's looked smooth whilst in the 212s, but he's always been lean enough. Maybe it won't be as much of an issue now in the open, but I think some of that smoothness comes down to genetics.
I have Lunsford over Walker (and Hunter)
I think him having had a weight cap, it really hurt his physique and now we'll see him under Hany without limits and he won't be flat, and his upper chest and biceps won't look smooth and deflated. I've always liked his structure but in 212 it was good enough to win but left alot to be desired (no homo).
My only question is how conditioned can he get but still maintain his roundness/fullness. I think he's look better but he has to be conditioned as Hadi, Bonac and Walker. I've never seen him reach their levels of overall conditioning.

His old prep coach was also maybe not the best. At one point for prejudging his carb up was just a diet food. Something like 40grams chicken, broccoli and a bit of rice. Unsurprisingly he was pancake flat. Then they saw everyone carbing up on junk food so decided to head out to get some before finals. Looked better, but spilled over. Basically though they were winging it.
Lunsford is maybe the leanest off season pro out there. Clear visible abs and striated glutes 365 without much effort. It's more puzzling how a guy like that can come in so badly off.

I don't know if you remember what happened to Seth Feroce, but he decided to compete in the open in the 2012 Toronto Pro. That was fine...but his mistake was coming in at an "open" body weight. He was probably a solid 5-lb or more over the 212-lb cutoff. And Bill Willmore ended up beating him:
I hope Lunsford doesn't make the same mistake.
It's great that he doesn't have to make weight...but he doesn't need to be way over 212.

But, is it just me or do his arms and shoulders look a little blury or watery compared to his lower body?
I mean, thats about the most favorable lighting you can have. Everything below the chest looks grainy but arms and shoulders seem comparatively smooth.
