What does everyone think is the best daily multi vitamin pack? I liked universal animal pack but the label says ingredients cause cancer now, well that’s enough for me to stop taking it so looking for a replacement
-
I take an adult multi from WalMart.

Taking vitamins is a waste of money so I buy cheap ones.
;)

I haven't researched it much but I pop a multi when I remember, generally once a week. I figure the body must be a decent canteen for most stuff or I'd go downhill when I didn't take one for a few months. Can't say I ever noticed that.
Experts would probably say split fat soluble ones from water soluble and eat appropriate foods alongside. I'm not that professional.
I mistrust the florescent piss. I'm sure I've heard people say multis are just bad so I make a point of drinking lots of water the day I pop one.
I'm a D and zinc believer for overall immune health after all this germaphobia shit.

Wrong. I’ve been using vitamins for the past 30 years. I no longer eat fruits or vegetables, all they provided to me was gas. By the time fruits and vegetables get to the market they are void of any nutrition. I use a psyllium powder once per day. I had blood work done to ascertain my vitamin, mineral and antioxidant levels and the results were I was meeting and exceeding in every category.

Been on this stack daily for the past 5 years :)

I had luck with those two. Rugby/Major handles the multivtamins for a ton of hospitals, I figure if anything goes wrong it will be news. I double dose.

Super Nutrition Opti-Energy Pack was the one pushed by a lot of life extension folks a few years ago. It was really good. I've heard the formula changed when NOW bought the brand.

I didn't use supplements much, but lately have just been messing around with a bunch, partly out of boredom, but partly to see if anything changes.........most of these are powder form from Microingredients. YMMV but here's my thoughts:
Creatine: actually does what is expected. Price has gotten stupid
D / Zinc / Quercetin / C - was my covid plan....got covid, got over it. Still take it daily. Have no idea if it does anything, but cheap and safe.
Glycine / Magnesium Glycinate - I find this does actually help with sleep. Not sure which one does it. Mag Glyc tastes like absolute shit
Vit K - no idea
CoQ10 - no idea, but if you're on statins, it's recommended. If I go off them next year, we'll see.
Tongkat ali - will get T level checked in Jan to see if it had impact - no idea but feel good
Lions mane supplement for coffee - no idea....but like the taste (coconut) and got it all half price.

My special little moron deadz seems to think vitamin pills or fruits and veg must be the only sources of vitamins. You heard it here first, there are no vitamins in other foods!
It's a shame there isn't a pill you could take to fix your utter stupidity.

Anyone prescribe to that Consumer Labs site? Which were the best vitamins?

I just can't get over this.
You would look better, save time and heaps of money, be more muscular and stronger if you pinned a bit of deca or test or both sub q into your stomach e5d.
A smidgen of PEDs > all the supps in the world

the argument would be that PED's has adverse side effects.
however that stack is pretty rediculous anyways. Having adequate nutrition/vitamins from food is enough. Vitamin D in the winter and additional omega-3's if you don't eat enough fish is enough. Excessive vitamins/nutrition will not net additional hypertrophy. On the contrary it could make you sick and have a negative effect on growth.

what is vitamin quality?
what differentiates one from another? 10IU of vitamin C or D from a random brand from 10IU from a so called quality brand?

that is my gut feeling aswell. Just sounds like pretentious gibberish and like you say marketing ploy. But, I'm not knowlegable at all in nutritional biochemistry, and VB seems to be but what do I know.

What I attempted to say quality as in all listed ingredients being present, in the correct amount.
Over the years I have seen some truly horrific results, not just underdosing but overdosing too, eg vitamin D tripple dosed.

I think this is less of a problem in Sweden since we still (should have) pretty strict regulatory with "livsmedelsverket" https://kontrollwiki.livsmedelsverket.se/artikel/83/markning-av-kosttillskott
what is sold in the grocery stores/supermarkets for more general public should be undergoing controlls. But, maybe the more "bodybuilding"- internet based stores are less regulated.

I would by my vitamins at a pharmacy, say Pfizer B12. Injectable B-complexes are legal to import also.
The "bodybuilding brands" are a disaster. A competitor tested someone elses (a rivals) multi and he said the results were laughable ("this is just between you and me! Lol) They don't want to accuse anyone publicly, there could be all sorts of problems.
I would like to read this but I don't want to pay the money

vitamins are totally unregulated in the US. A quality vitamin will meet label claims and have low/no contaminants. a low quality vitamin will not meet label claims and have all sorts of heavy metals and other undesirable contaminants in it.
Unfortunately, there's no way to know what you're taking. Another reason why whole foods are superior

As do supps / artificial vitamins.
I'm pretty sure vitamin pills and other supps have killed more people each year than steroids have.

Multivitamin supplements are all garbage and a waste of money at best. At worst they can very harmful, and high doses of some have been linked to cancer and other diseases.
But if you're gonna buy and take one anyway, this is what Consumer Reports said after testing many:
Choosing the right multivitamin supplement for you
Most we tested were fine, so select by price
Last updated: September 2010
All but one of the products we tested met their label claims for key essential vitamins and minerals, and none contained worrisome levels of contaminants such as arsenic or heavy metals. Most of the pills we tested also passed the U.S. Pharmacopeia’s dissolution test, which involves immersing them in a simulated stomach-acid solution to determine whether they’ll dissolve properly in your body. (The USP is an independent standards-setting authority for the drug and dietary supplement industries.)
2 multivitamins that came up short
Whole Source Mature Adult (Rite Aid) and One Daily (The Vitamin Shoppe)
Samples of one of the three lots we tested of One Daily and samples of two lots of Whole Source Mature Adult failed to break down properly in our dissolution test. And samples of two of the One Daily lots contained less than 90 percent of their labeled level of vitamin A, considered the cutoff for an acceptable margin of error by the U.S. Pharmacopeia, which sets industry standards for dietary supplements.
Both products also exceeded the USP‘s upper limits for nutrients: One Daily contained more than 125 percent of its labeled calcium, while Whole Source had more than 125 percent of its labeled zinc and more than 165 percent of its labeled vitamin D. Those amounts don’t pose a health risk, but they do raise concern about the products’ quality. And at about 13 cents per day, they were the most expensive of all the multis we tested. There are better choices.
The biggest winner: Costco’s Kirkland Signature, whose regular, “mature,” and children’s multis cost a nickel or less a day.

Personally, I just eat a nutrient dense, very meat/egg heavy keto diet consistently and it has served me very well for several years.
Heck, eggs alone are many times better than any multivitamin out there:

How many actually get tested? I just got an iron infusion because I was low despite normal hematocrit. They always say "such and such a high percentage of the population is deficient" without knowning it. With magnesium it was like 40%!

One of the greatest meals. We even have it for dinner once a week.
Eggs, bacon, toast, hash, etc...
One of my favorites.

True, should do a bloodtest to know for sure. Important to not be low in anything since they all work in conjunction with another. For example Vitamin D also works in conjunction with magnesium, it's only bioavailable with magnesium. So if the magnesium intake is too low it doesn't matter how much vitamin D you take. Saying this since it's so popular lately with covid and what not to take in high dosage of vitamin D.

Two of the very few supplements I do take, because I know I personally need them at least for now.
I take D3 in coconut oil, instead of the toxic "vegetable" oils.
I take Magnesium Glycinate, because it's the form easiest to absorb and it's not a laxative unlike other forms.
If I need a supplement, I always look for the one with the least ingredients.

FWIW I worked critical care for years and I never saw a single person with low magnesium (low meaning outside physiological reference range). I had heard that statistic too, hence my interest, but didnt see it reflected in real life results. I still take a magnesium bc it helps me fall asleep but i dont think its truly necessary.
Vitamin D is probably the only vitamin level worth testing for.
-
Look up Dr. John Campbell on youtube if you want to know ALL about vitamin D and other vitamins.
He's the king of vitamin info/knowledge/flotsam/jetsam.

I take Vitamin B complex,C,D,E, magnesium, zinc, larginine, and ashwagandha. I’m a believer in certain supplements.
