Yeah save the heavy weight for BB curls or as i use an EZ Bar. I have a preacher bench at home but never use it, not that i dislike preachers but i always use higher reps when doing them.

I’ve never known of a natural bodybuilder that tore a bicep, tricep, or pec.
-
Larry Scott does them in his own way or he did (RIP)
wide grip & notice his wrist movement at the bottom...

He looked uncomfortable there. Weight was too heavy

I tore mine several years ago, that year I had corticosteroid injections for a joint injury. A year later a friend with Crohns tore both on a preacher pad-he was on prednisone for a year before the tear.
I firmly believe the anti inflammatory drugs weaken the tendons.

x2
My theory is the PEDs increase the strength of the muscle fibers at a super-human pace and the tendon / fiber-tendon connections do not strengthen at that same pace.

I agree. last couple of reps should be hard but not like the 2nd or 3rd rep.
I honestly just stay in the so called average 8-12 range & never had a problem on any exercise.

Yes! Good one, Hulkotron.
I feel that with natural strength training, the development of all these components to strength is much more linear.
I will not train for strength while on PED's for this reason. High reps only.

You know that is coming soon, we all do
-
Hanky what's your one rep max on the preacher curl?

If its his left bicep his whole reason to exist will be gone...

Fking ridiculous. Stick with simple.

Perfect tutorial on how to tear off a bicep
Pulling from that full extension puts all the strain on the tendon
Its the same reason so many people do it deadlifting, its always the arm with the underhand grip that goes..

Yup. But some are just so ego driven and blind.

This, it happens but not that often

I do however believe Hammer curls are a good exercise ;)

the bounce will certainly help the peak
You wil end up with your bicep half way up your arm
And as for peak, Larry never had one
