this is pretty fucking impressive

Risking your life again and again for a scene for a movie?... NEWSFLASH, Cruise, the audience doesn't care THAT much if it's you or a stunt person or if it's real or blue screen!....
who knows, maybe as a cultie scientologist who has lived countless lives before and will again, this particular life doesn't mean that much if he dies or not...
So brave and daring, but yet too much of a coward in REAL LIFE to denounce his abusive scam cult or be a father to Suri, who he hasn't seen in 10 year and counting!

Maybe he enjoys the thrill and sense of accomplishment.

That shit is cool. I made a thread three or four years ago after the one he did with Henry Caville and it was literally about him being a nut case but making a great movie.

They all are nutcases , at least in this case he isn’t a pedo like majority like Tom hanks or Weinstein

Geez, another mission impossible? How many are there? I think I saw one of them and didn’t like it very much.
There seems to be quite a lot of missions that are impossible.
-
He is either going to get himself killed or kill one of his co stars encouraging them to do their own stunts. If he insisted I do stunts as an actor I would tell him to fuck off.
-
Dude has some balls.
-
Just another rich dude doing fun expensive things.
I'm sure Jackie Chan saw this and said "dats cute i do dis for breakfast no trainin".

Tom is too smart (and rich) to die from a stunt going wrong.
His stunts (although "big-time") are pretty low risk (compared to shit Jackie and other stuntmen have done) and an extreme amount of planning, practice, thought, math and science go into them.
I would absolutely trust him and his team.
The only way he'd die from a stunt is if a bird knocked him out mid-air and he fell to his death or something like that. Freak 1-in-a-billion accident.

TBH he seems to be showing that no missions are impossible
the only decent MI was the second one, it actually was a serious movie, the rest are just spooffs with that fuckwit Simon Pegg being a stereotypical terrified Brit
-
He stayed safe because they were all wearing masks

He already broke his leg during the filming of the last Mission Impossible movie. This caused a several week delay in finishing the movie and in filming Top Gun 2 which is no problem for Cruise because he was the big star. A lesser actor making the Mission Impossible movie may have lost another movie role because of the delay in filming. Same with a Top Gun 2 actor because of that delay.

Funny.. MI2 has always stood out in my head from the others. I can hardly remember the other MI's but #2 feels like I saw it last night - twice. The motorbike scenes and the fight on the beach.. the main bad guy's epic accent "I'll fooking kill yoo Hoont/coont".. Tom putting that mask (of his face) on the other bad guy's face and then making a run for it after the main dude kills his own dude.... good stuff.

I remember watching that on a commercial TV channel and they cut to the commercials just before he ripped off the mask and when it came back on he was outside shooting at the oxygen canisters .
The whole movie made no sense
I have seen it many times, Thandi Newton was pretty impressive as well.

That video was awesome. Cruise is an animal.
-
People forget that when the movie business first started in this country, ALL the actors did their own stunts. There were NO stuntmen. That's how soft they have gotten over time.
-
Cruise must be funding the movies he stars in now, there is now way insurance companies would cover him doing stupid stuff like that
-
Burt Reynolds suffered greatly in his later years because of the injuries sustained doing his own stunts in movies.
