Loser, Devils Haircut...one of the best! He'll be missed.
STAYY POSITIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never was a huge fan but definitely a legend. RIP
IMO, this power trio was his best work:
-
R.I.P. to a legendary guitar player
-
Never dropped off in his skill level. Cool guy. Underrated even as big as he was. RIP
-

IMO, this power trio was his best work:
Huge fan of Tim Bogerts bass playing.
Amazing player...
-
Just released a song with Ozzie. It wasn't Beethoven's ninth but Patient Number 9 is a great song.
-
RIP!
-
In the world of guitar, a horrific loss.
One of the TRUE legends.
He was a virtuoso all his own.
Hail.
-
Beck with waters.
-
I really liked his earlier work.
-
Sudden attack of bacterial meningitis.
I wonder how he got it?

Sad day

Recently EVH first, now Jeff Beck. Our music teachers are slowly leaving our realm, really sucks. But what they left behind made them immortal.

Jeff Beck R.I.P

"If you ever want to meet your favorite guitar players sit in the audience at a Jeff Beck concert"
Last fall I was going to go see him and tickets were $100. I waited a couple of weeks and when I checked again tickets had over doubled the price so I told myself I'd catch him next time he came around :'(
-
Wired, Blow by Blow and Guitar Shop are three of my favorite albums ever in any genre.
Jeff only worked with 5 star talent for band mates.
The very best footage of somewhat recent JB is Live at Ronnie Scott’s.
I’m a drummer of 30+ yr and Jeff ALWAYS hand picked some of the best drummers around to record with.
Long life but a huge loss to the world of music - RIP.

She's playing music that someone else wrote.

I can play songs like Comfortably Numb and Little Wing. I couldn't write them. Definitely more to being a great guitarist than imitation.

Nobody ever confused Yo Yo Ma with Beethoven. HTH

Better than Beck or Clapton or Eddie...

Not a single one of those guitarists would be able to replicate Beck’s tone
Tone comes from the mind, heart & fingers
-
Better than Beck or Clapton or Eddie...
Tryouts for "Deliverance II - Hong Kong Hillbillies"?

Yeah, it was in the early 80s that Beck ditched the pick and developed his right hand approach. I can't think of any well-know guitarists who made such a switch decades into a career. Players like Mark Knopfler and Kevin Eubanks pretty much came out of the box with a pickless right hand style.

This is exactly what I mean, fuck his tone, its a fucking guitar, you get profficent at it and you make the tones
Hendrix used a zippo lighter to get different tones, doesnt mean someone else couldnt make the same noise with a zippo
Clapton was supposed to be the GOAT, he played with Knopfler and sounded shite

I’m absolutely not going to get into it with you.
Clearly it would be pointless.
You’ve not even a very basic understanding of guitar playing and its many aspects of virtuosic expression and performance.
I mean no disrespect.
It’s simply the truth.

To and too. Look into it.
Jimmy is very talented, but strictly as an electric player, chops-wise, he’s mostly hugely underwhelming. His songwriting, arranging and producing are his greatest achievements. His acoustic playing was quite good.
Soloing, live, he is dreadful.
The man took sloppiness to new heights.
Regardless, once guys like Ed, etc. hit the scene, dudes like Page, Frehley and the like were outdated and left in the dust.
Which brings up … Beck.
Of his (stylistic) peers, Jeff was the only one to evolve and grow as a player. To reimagine himself and become something well beyond his era and scene.

Jeff became the #1 session player for quite some time for big artists before everyone started hiring Slash

"Deliverance" all over again?
And yes, all these kids are talented but what happens when they grow up? Are any of them a "Mozart" or is this just the dream of a "Brozart"?

Slash was never a session player.
He guested on a lot of records.
Big difference.

I remember the "Wrecking Crew" of session players. All great musicians! I think that Herb Alpert's "Tijuana Brass" was pretty much "Wrecking Crew" folks.

They are human tape recorders basically.

Those cats played on EVERYTHING. Glen Campbell was a member.
After, it was the era of guys like Steve Lukather, etc.
