Even if you didn’t like the president, you still laughed and joked with people about it. Most people didn’t have this hate. Now they do and I think the change came about when Obama was elected for his second term. That’s when the more extreme leftism started to ramp up in my opinion. That’s when a lot more stuff started getting shoved down our throats. I think social media accelerated the process. There’s no going back now.

2012 is when I noticed the leftism and the wokeness. Social media started to take off in 07-08 but really took over around 2012. Obama opposed gay marriage in 2008 and was a more center left democrat but by 2012 he was a complete lefty. Not as extreme as what we see today, but a lefty nevertheless.
