Title: 2023 Masters Olympia - Aug 16 - Romania
Post by: hipolito mejia on February 27, 2023, 05:36:53 AM
I heard the prize money is around $250.000 ( increasing as we speak). The contest will feature 10 bodybuilding divisions in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, on Aug. 26-27, 2023, at the BTArena

Who should enter for an easy payday?

Ronny Rockel
Johnny Jackson
XMan
Priest
The Blade
Cutler
Kai Greene
Victor Martinez
Dennis James
Robby Robinson

Should Kevin Levrone do a guess pose and taste the water for a battle of the Masters in 24'?

The list of selected athletes will be published on April 24, 2023.

I doubt the long retired guys will want to load up on drugs in their 50s. Definitely don’t see Jay doing it. Would love to see Kai and Dex go nose to nose though

250k divided by 10 divisions......not just solely on men's bodybuilding.....which amounts to chump change when you take into consideration the money competitors will spend on gear, food, and last but not least......traveling accommodations to Fukin Romania......who the hell would watch that shitshow of retired old bodybuilders coming off the couch/wheelchair to fly to Romania for a show that the promoter.....has no experience in doing....lol. Read between the lines and get your facts straight before posting next time

Maybe Kai could enter and win?

I know he's still huge but have no idea what kind of condition he's in. A lot of his social media pics are from years ago, current pics he's covered head to toe in a hoody and sweats.

Levrone probably has PTSD from his previous comeback catastrophe.  I know he's doing some kind of quest to get in shape at the age of 50 or something like that.  But its alot of crossfit type stuff. Not really doing bodybuilding.

Dex is way downsized. DJ is downsized, still big but but nowhere close to contest shape. He's been retired for so long. Don't know about Vic.

This won't be like the early 90's when guys came out of retirement and looked good. This will be all current pros already in shape that also meet the age requirement.

It will probably suck.

250k spread over many divisions, dingus.

Not 250k just for the Masters winner.

Kai will be 49 this year [he may have just turned that], but is massive when in shape - I'd worry about his health getting into contest shape at his usual size at his age.

Victoria's is still in good shape at 240, and will be 50 this year. I would think Victor is the best candidate to win this.

Everyone else would need some time to get their size back. That's assuming they even want to do that - I don't think Dennis James or Dexter want to compete again.

Yeah early to mid 2000's Gary looked great. Looked a little weird in the face, as if he had a facelift ans a new hairline.

But he had to be damn near 50 then. He's probably 60 something now? He's on social media too but hasn't posted a current pic in a loooong time.

He's in Thailand too. Maybe he crossed swords paths with Leo before his untimely demise.

Would be cool to watch. But they need to up that prize money, 250k spread among the divisions isn’t near enough to pull some of those guys out of retirement.

hell of a toll on the body getting ready for a show in your old age, your body becomes less forgiving as you age, doing that show could reduce your lifespan by a year or two at a time when you're running out of years. There will always be one or two that will push then envelope which means all will have too to stay competitive.

Dexter has been very consistent for so damn long. Always been a fan.

And yeah - that's a really good fucking purse. I'm shocked they're giving 250k for that, tbh. Funnily enough - I would have banked on Levrone if the 2016 comeback didn't show he just couldn't do it anymore.
