I read the original report before the two died, and it said they were probably mistaken for a rival Haitian gang. I knew then that the victims were black. Not sure if Mexicans just don’t like black people or if it was mistaken identity. I wonder if the story gets buried, if it turns out they were drug dealers.

Plus, they would never say anything bad that would cause problems for tourism.
Most of the bad dealings in Mexico go unreported, their media is far more controlled than the US.
I've spent a lot of time in Mexico, it's a dangerous place and the border towns are the worst.

I used to drive to El Paso and walk across the border to Juarez to buy gear. Once time i was waiting for my friend to pick me up at the border and a minivan filled with 5 young dudes dressed in black rolled up, just as they opened the door to the minivan a Mexican nation guard soldier walked around the corner (the military patrol the border crossing), they slammed the door and bolted like a bat out of hell.
That was my death I'm halfway sure of it.
There are safe places in Mexico, but the border towns are the worst due to drug/human trafficking.
The cops don't give a shit, they get paid nothing, so they are easily bought out by cartels who have millions.
There is a saying in Mexico that when bad things happen the cops run away, and it is 100% true.
They aren't going to put their life on the line for a salary that barely gets you out of poverty.

Now i fly a good 3-4 hours into the country.
The border towns are insane and dangerous.
They Mexican media doesn't report it, but thousands of Americans get kidnapped in Juarez, Tijuana, Matamoros, etc. each year.
It's bad for tourism.
Granted a lot of people go there for nefarious reasons.
You can do anything in Mexico if you have money.
And it's closer than Thailand, just less lady bois because Mexicans are macho.
There are some good and safe places, you just need to know the rules.

Spot on. I lived in Guadalajara for 10 years and trained at Romano's gym(he lived in Guadalajara), met him many times training there. It was a Golds Gym when he ran it but he sold it and now it's called Gym Guadalajara. Avenida Xochitl. The only thing you'll find in legit Mexican pharmacies in Guadalajara or Mexico City like Farmacia Ahorros, Benavides, Soriana, etc. is legit pharma test and Deca. No tren, no EQ, nothing. If you happen to be lucky enough to find one of the last legal Mexican oxandrolone's it will be 2.5 or 5 mg(and it works better than an UG 50 mg oxandrolone).
And Mexico is not that dangerous if you're smart and know the written and unwritten rules like This is Overload mentioned. Border towns are a whole different story. They are not real Mexico, they are shitholes that attract Americans with bad intentions. And many of the kidnappings(not all) and crazy shit in border towns involve Americans looking for something they shouldn't be looking for. The media rarely digs deep into these events.
