If you wear Chuck Taylor shoes when you train, I hate you, if you wear them at all, I hate you. These are the ugliest most useless shoes and all people buy them for is to be a yuppy douchebag. Theres no support, theres no cushion, they are stupid looking. You could be my best friend (granted I have no friends), and if you show up wearing those things Ill spit in your face and call you a douche

I remember hearing some serious lifters say they are good for deadlifts, I tried them and didn't like them at all.
-
Agreed. They suck support and looks wise.

I tried a pair on once and was like "HOW THE F DO PEOPLE WALK AROUND IN THESE THINGS?" Horrible. No support, no arch support, the bottoms are crap, etc.

They’re simple inexpensive shoes, of all things to get upset over ???
I dont wear them, but they’re so inoffensive. Now Nike/Jordan shoes are a different story … all that money and they can’t make them in the US? Sad!

why does it matter what I get upset over? We are all different. My mental health issues dictate me to get upset over things that dont matter to others. I hate those shoes and Ill gladly tell the person wearing them that
-
I had them decades ago when they were just "tennis shoes".
-
I never bothered to try those as they just looked uncomfortable to me.
As far as deadlift shoes are concerned, I just put on some flat/cheap slipper type things (The Walmart) or those hospital socks (w/ the grippers on the bottom) when going heavy (ish).

Great post!
I have wor chucks in the past, mainly for the look, but the offered zero support, advantage, anything really.
I’d also like to nominate the vibrum toe shoes or whatever they are.

Yes the toe shoes are the absolute worst ever. Then it’s a tie for me between the chucks and Jordan’s/Nikes big bulky looking dumb ass shoes. I’m a simple sneaker shoe guy, I like small low profile with good sole and ventilation.

I wear Sauconys, for one reason and one reason only,....insanely comfortable. And for a fat pathetic slob I need that comfort :D

Get ready to do some spitting, cuz I own a pair. :D
I use them to do yardwork... they`re ancient......used to wear them when I was a groundskeeper at a local cemetary......they held up well, look fantastic,Chuck was a legend, and I think they are simply adorable, but they clash with the color of my eyes, and my favorite purse. ;D

Wes owns ten pairs of new balance

Eons ago when I competed in AAU powerlifting I would pull in either karate shoes or gymnastic slippers......laugh but they are both great for deadlifting.

I`m an Addidas man as well as a Nike man.

I have thought the respectable course of action would be disemboweling myself. But being as this happened years ago and it is my greatest regret in life, I was trying to impress a woman, I’m hoping you’ll let it slide.

“sneakers”
Yup! ;D

youre a hall of famer and an outstanding citizen, its all good
Im busy with hankys gal and raising the kids anyways

I personally like adidas.
Agree with the comments on the check taylors. Might as well wrap my foot in burlap. I remember about 8 or 9 years ago I went to get a pair of Taylors just for the nostalgia in it. Couldn't believe how cheaply made they were but the price wasn't much less than other shoes that offer good soles, support etc..
Now every fuckin millennial and gen Z in my gym wears them. Which I really don't mind but nothing says douche bag like a guy in a suit wearing chuck taylors.
-
You motherfckers are serious about your foot care. I’ll sit this one out.
Carry on.
-
I don’t wear shoes at all, walk around barefoot to workout
-
Chucks are around $55 now.
They were the most popular athletic sneaker back when I was in high school.
Then they cost $15 which was a lot.
I had $2 sneakers from Woolworths Grants. They sucked.
-

I always did that too.
-
Chucks are around $55 now.
They go up to double that depending on the style.
Only because they are popular and trendy for phags.
I had a pair when i was a young lad, never considered wearing them as an adult.
But i see dozens of phags wearing them on a daily basis.
-
I liked that the size was stamped on the soles. :D

They cost $12.00 in my area as a kid....very expensive for the time period.
-
They are my gym sneakers. I don’t want a raised, soft sole for lifting.
What “support” are people talking about?
-

Yep, the cool kids had them but I had $2 sneakers from Grants.
I did get some Chucks later on in life but was surprised how they actually were...no arch support.
Bought some Chuck knockoffs at WallyMart for $20 and use them for deadlifts.
-
I have a special edition custom made Chuck taylor; the most uncomfortable shoes I have aver wore lol
but the most compliments you could ever get from chicks as well
Some people fry their organs and starve themselves in order to get attention from chicks... I could wear the damn shoes for a few hours on a bad weekend lol
But seriously, a thread whining about Converse ?
Shoes are overrated ! be an Alpha, Go barefooted danmmit
Liver King will be so disappointed at some Getbiggers
WoooSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Never owned a pair think the west side barbell guys made them popular think it was maybe Dave Tate said they best shoes for squatting in I may be remember wrong? I like to own just a single pair of trainers and make them last years, they get worn for everything gym, pub ect
