Yeah I heard, and man, I'm all broken up, boy, what a blow... I have always been a big fan of the immortal Bobby Caldwell. I saw him in concert once and he had a wonderful voice that ALL women loved.

My favorite song and likely his most memorable song is this one (as pointed out by others):

There's a good story behind what likely caused most people to think Bobby was black. Rumor has it that it was done on purpose and that at the very beginning when he was first signed to TK Records, his single "What you won't do for love" was going to be the lead single but TK Records had mostly RnB acts and broke all their singles through RnB radio. So, they had this picture to promote the single (below):

But TK Records realized that using that picture wouldn't work for black folks. Bobby, being as clever as he was, came up with the idea of using a picture that he loved of himself (below) and covered it with Acetate and made a black silhouette at the brim and they sold records with that picture as the cover. Black people ended up loving Bobby Caldwell's music. Later, he went on tour with Natalie Cole and it was then that black people saw him on stage and thought, "Wait a fucking minute, Bobby Caldwell is white?!?". Still, after they heard his powerful voice that transcended race and culture, they then thought, "Fuck that, we don't care what color he is, the man has a powerful voice".

I recall reading that Mark Goodman of MTV fame lame did NOT care for Rick Astley because he felt he was a "white boy" trying to sound like a "Black Man" therefor Rick was more of a shitz kaboob than a "real" singer. Fuck Goodman to Sheol.
I like Johnny Mathis a LOT! Why? Because he is a fantastic vocalist. Oh WAIT! Mark Goodman would not approve as Mathis doesn't sound white and he is Black...Oh! Double WAIT! Mathis is Gay so that makes it all better in Woke World.

My youngest living brother once told me I wouldn't have made it because I would NOT have given in to the prevalent deviancy then and now. Now you must deal with woke shit while still giving it up to perverts. Fortunately I am not good looking and mentally slow in many ways but I have had a few close calls with producers, directors and the like. By close I mean I told them no and if they said that same shit to me again they were going through the closest wall. I have also been asked if I wanted to be with two women at the same time. Gross No thanks. I am not like those people.
Because the truth is, when you strip away the tinsel from Hollyweird, you find the real tinsel underneath.
