No chance will bodybuilding ever make the Olympics. It would never make it beyond any level of drug testing.
Yet Ben Weider seemed to always actually believe it would happen.

The only Weider brother to earn actual medals during active duty of schmoedom. That Purple Thong he was awarded after taking multiple splashes of Pro Tan and various posing oils at the Battle of the Bulge ‘93 was nothing short of amazing and brave. I salute you good sir! *points to cock*

Drug testing in bodybuilding is fucking idiotic. And it was the strangest period of time in modern bodybuilding. Guys failed drug tests at the Arnold then competed 6 months later at the O, looking better and passing the test. Some guys just lnew how to get around it better than others. Haney just had to come off but Mike Christian looked his all time best. Ha!
Natural bodybuilders look like shit.

Like Napoleon, his dreams fell short.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

That dude was dogged in his determination to have bodybuilding in the Olympics.
Even as an obsessed and aspiring bodybuilder I knew it didn’t belong in that arena.
And this is saying nothing of the fact that, indeed, bodybuilding, as a PRESENTATION judged as it is, is 100 percent drugs.

he had a napoleon complex.

Wtf? That's a real Canadian Forces military uniform. I thought mine was in my closet, but it's not, so I have no idea where it is.
But that is a real Canadian Forces DEU uniform [dress and events uniform].
Ben Weider was a full colonel in the Canadian Forces? ???

I’m stunned that you didn’t know this.
You owe your commanding officer a 21-rope salute, Private!

Lol! Apparently, DEU stands for Distinctive Environmental Uniform.
Good for Ben Weider for being a legit military man.
Let me guess...the Navy?
I need to go check this out now.

I think he was on the ground. An Army man!

I hated Bayonet training under stress.
I'm glad I was in the Army, but I'm glad it's over now.
I just read this online:
In 1942, he enlisted in the Canadian Army, serving in the 6th Duke of Connaught's Royal Canadian Hussars, in which he did intelligence work. Ben Weider served in the Canadian Army during World War II.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Weider
Interesting...and I read elsewhere that he was an honourary lieutenant colonel. But the four bar officer rank in the Canadian Forces is full colonel.
So I'm not quite clear how Ben achieved such a rank.
But that dress uniform is 100% legit Canadian military issue.

I’m sure the first “battle of the bulge” erected in 72, the battle of the bulge 93 was the second cumming. Kind of like WW1 and WW2
Regardless, such a fearless leader and Patriot to his country and fellow thong warriors

He got promoted -
"From 1998 to 2005, Ben Weider was Honorary Lieutenant Colonel of the 62nd (Shawinigan) Field Artillery Regiment, RCA. In 2005, he was promoted to Honorary Colonel of that military unit."

Interesting.
I wasn't aware that the Canadian military promotes civilians to high ranks like that. Colonel usually denotes a lot of experience - whether it be in the regular forces, or in the reserves.
Did he get this rank for serving in WWII?
Just seems strange to give it out to someone without. I understand the concept or an honourary Ph.D, but this is a little different.
Although maybe my guess about Ben getting it because of his WWII experience is accurate.

Probably a combo of that, and throwing a boatload of money to military charities or something. Toward the end, him and Joe were doling out millions per year to historical groups, Jewish groups, etc.... to be remembered.

don't get caught with that man alone
