Title: What value do members of getbig place on bodybuilding?
Post by: rufjunk on April 27, 2006, 12:51:05 PM
What value do members of getbig place on bodybuilding?

The process of lifting weights to increase muscle size and eating many meals routinely throughout the day is not an enlightening process.

There's no needed college degree, the only thing required in this brute type regimen is dedication.

If this is the case, why do so many people dedicate themselves to this regimen?

Is it strictly to push themselves or is it for another reason?

Do people think standing up on stage with your body exposed will change them in some sort of way, give them never-ending confidence? Will fix their lives?

What is it about bodybuilding that causes everyone to browse this message board, to pay attenetion to pros, to read magazines, to buy supplements, why?

Is it no different to dedicating yourself to another activity? What is the end value? Why is this important? Why do people care?

Exactly, we all talk about lifting but no one really does it. Have you tried it? those things are freaking heavy!

blah, blah, blah...

I started lifting weights at 17 (14 years ago) I think that BB kept me out of shitload of trouble (drugs, booze, smoking etc.) It also improves discipline and focus, which helped me get my college degree. It strenghtens the whole body (muscles, bones, tendons), which helped me to survive a nasty traffic accident 3 an half months ago - I fractured my spine, but I'm able to walk without problems, enjoy life and watch my 12 weeks old daughter grow. If I had a body of an average Joe, I would be 6 feet under or in bed for the rest of my life, or, in best case scenario, in a wheelchair. I hope  that I'll be able to lift again in a couple of months.

There are so many great things about the bodybuilding lifestyle.  There are health, mind, and discipline attributes that are a positive for young men.  The negative is clearly the drugs.  Let's face facts.  Pro bodybuilding is based on drug use.  The supplement ads that keep the magazines in business feature drug using bodybuilders.

I have seen to many guys throw away there life pursuing a junky trophy living the juicing life style.  They throw away their education and future careers looking to buy that next syringe and vial.  When I was about 45 I remember having a conversation with an old friend.  We were talking about our bodybuilding buddies back in the day.  The conversation was always the same.  What happened to the huge juicers back in college.  They are all ex users and look like crap.  They also have garbage jobs.  In the day they were the minor celebrity in the clubs.

If they would have taken a different road the conversation would have went something like this.  "What happened to John back in the day."  "Ya, he was good.  He could have won some contests if would have juiced.  You know something.  He's still looks great."

I'm off the soap box.  Now you can tell me to shove it.

Sorry I missed the debate. I've been gone.

The point of the post is to get everyone to think, my thread title was also changed.

I don't believe my post count is indicative of how priivy I am to the bodybuilding scene. You can't flame guys with big post counts and do the same with those who "only have 120 something posts".

So anyway, why do people care about bodybuilding?

Why do you lift?

Let's share.

why do you care about......(fill in the blank) is about as dumb a question as can be asked. everybody is different and has likes and dislikes and hobbies and lifestyles and that is why some people like something while others consider it a waste of time.now i am done with the serious part of my answer.

why do you like the feel of a stiff cock in your ass? why do you think its ok to to come to a website about working out and ask stupid questions? does your wife know you wear here clothes and sleep with guys at the no tell motel? why do you think asking stupid questions in some way makes you better than those you ask questions of? why do you never follow thru on your secret desire to suck the end of a loaded gun and blow your useless pea brain out? why did your sorry excuse for a sperm doner not shoot his load in your whore of a mothers face instead of causing you? why do you waste time here with all this nonsence when you could be back on the street earing your next crack fix?

discuss...

post count is not indicitive of how priivy you are to anything. it just seemed strange that a person who seemingly wanted to come here and bash bodybuilding would have 120 posts on a bodybuilding board???

i see now that you are trying to turn over stones and get some discussion here.
