As a Ravens fan, I kind of hope so. This contract negotiations of the past two years is out of control. I’m not sure that the dude is intelligent enough to realize he was given a fair offer and that he’s crippling the team with what he wants. Word is he was offered $133 million at signing, with $200 million fully guaranteed if he was still with the team at five years. Total guarantee was $175 million regardless. I think him not having an agent is doing himself a disservice. I’m all for players getting paid, but this seems outright greedy.

Plus, he had an absolutely shit season.... he has done more harm than good. He was so sure he would take them to a Superbowl that he was biding his time. Now he just looks like a problem child for other teams that may have wanted him.

Feels like he'll end up on the Pats

Not the Colts? Seems there’s chatter about that but it wouldn’t surprise me if he went to the Pats.
-
He's gone.
Too bad because the Ravens are probably the ideal place for him.

I believe this as well. The team is built for him and I think that he’ll go somewhere else that’s not a perfect fit and he’ll get injured playing his style. He’s a gifted athlete for sure, but a total dummy. I think he got a 7 on his Wonderlic.

Only 6 players in front of him?
Not bad at all.
;)

Doesn't appear to be a market for him, which is crazy.
-
Normal path with black QB's.
-
Lamar has burned some bridges with the Ravens.
However, he may have to stay with them if no one else wants him, which appears to be the case.
He wants too much guaranteed money and has the injury history.
The head coach has expressed very positive statements about wanting Lamar back.

Will be tough convincing his team who he quit on last year.

It will be hard for him to reduce his expectations about salary and return to the Ravens.
They are willing to pay him a lot if he returns.
He could be stubborn and prideful and sit out.
In that case the Ravens will move on.

They should draft a QB or go with Huntley.

Don’t let his pro bowl selection fool you, he ain’t winning anything. Only upside would be they wouldn’t have to change the offense to suit him, but no WR is coming to Baltimore if they got nobody to throw it.

One flukeish play away from winning as many playoff games as Lamar has.
With what seems to settle around $45M less in a season.
Ok, I know Lamar is way better player but still, if you miss 30% of games from last two seasons, why would anybody pay fully guaranteed anything?
Shit, make it 60M/year with 20/guaranteed?
His comp % was ~ 67.5. That is good enough. But what happens if you make him throw 50x in a game? Good amount of that precentage comes from his ability to extend plays. So, if he starts to injure his legs it will drop even more.

They should draft a QB and keep Huntley. Start Huntley until the other QB is ready. Deep year for QB's.

Think the dude from Florida will be a available at 22?

I wouldn't take him. A 53.8% passer completion rate in college won't translate well to the NFL.
-
Ravens signed OBJ. Is this bait to keep Lamar or is it an insurance policy for a young QB?

Bad insurance policy as he probably won't last 6 games.

Do they have an insurance policy on OBJ?

Another 30 years or older WR free agent for the Ravens....What else is new?

Not going to lie, Boldin was about the best they ever had, they just didn’t use him enough. Dude was an absolute animal on the super bowl run, so if Beckham can give them that style of play and production I’d be happy with it. I did like Mason as well. Sucks Baltimore seems to get them on the back nine, although Boldin continued to produce in San Fran.
-
Lamar may sit out next season.
Wouldn't surprise me.

He'll threaten too but he'll end up playing somewhere. No way he misses out on that much cash.

The best receiver in Ravens history was probably Michael Jackson back in the Vinnie Testaverde days. 76 catches 1200 yards and 14 receiving TD's back in 1996. How he wasn't selected for the pro bowl that season is beyond me. Next up would likely be Aquan Boldin, then Derrick Mason.
I don't trust Beckham to play more than 5 or 6 games in 2023.

Still remember Chris Bergman yelling Michael ” hee hee ” Jackson 😊
Thats why OBJ is there. To keep Lamar company at the trainers table.

Guess not, he signed a deal.

Not saying it’s right or wrong, I just don’t see him finishing that contract as the starter.
Woogs, what say you?
-
He got $185M in guaranteed money without an agent. Impressive.

They offered more than that before was the word in the news. $175 million fully guaranteed and $200 million if he was with the team in year five. But yeah, he got paid for sure.

They should have drafted Levis and let Lamar go.

Well...that's that.

Replace an All Pro with a crap shoot? I wouldn't do that. They already have the most dangerous QB in the NFL when healthy. They just need to protect him and give him the skill position players to succeed. Adding OBJ and that WR they just drafted is a good start.

Lamar was a flash in the pan. He no longer plays at an all pro level when he plays at all.

Check out his passing and rushing stats. Pretty consistent.

As are his playoff performances and regular injuries.

He does get hurt a lot, but he has started 7, 15, 15, 12, and 12 games in the regular season.
He's had 7 comebacks and 10 game winning drives.
I agree his 4 playoff game numbers do not look good.

Lamar can thank Jalen Hurts' agent for getting the deal done. If not for that, I believe they would still be negotiating now. Here in Baltimore the local fan base is ecstatic. From my standpoint I find it odd that no one is acknowledging the fact that NO OTHER TEAM in the NFL made Lamar an offer. That to me, holds a lot of weight. I'm not a big Lamar guy and he has a lot to prove this upcoming season. The Ravens are stepping it up by adding more weapons for him. Last season was the worst supporting cast for Lamar that I've ever seen.

Yes, the WR core was atrocious.
