fucks sake, you are on the wrong forum....

How to make a good estimation of when you will die? With all those EMF radiation, toxins, microplastics and other polutants on top of an overall unharmonious life style I really find it hard to guess how much time i have left

I beg to differ and in fact I was hoping you would comment you seem pretty smart
-
You won't even know when you die.
Hope this helps.
-
If you want to imagine what being dead is like
Just imagine what it was like before you were born.

Exactly. Pretend you're already dead and gone. Now what should you do today?

I've thought about this a lot recently.
A good friend of mine slowly died of cancer over a 2 year period.
Watching him waste away to nothing and literally die slowly was painful to watch.
It made me appreciate my life more, but i'm still living my life the same way.
-
Who cares? Just do what you do until you can’t do it and hope to pass quickly in the night. Nothing you can do about it so fuck it. But also you are alive until you are dead so you never really know you are dead.

The truth is you could die at any moment. Trust me.

I finally started giving blood. It makes you feel like you are at least worth a fuck somehow while you're here.

On getbig you don't sit around thinking about how much time you have left.
You sit around hoping time will speed up so you can expire already. HTH

Haha pretty much.

Take comfort in knowing all those that came before you also died, so make the most of it and try to spread positivity and happiness to those you love.

Yeah, I've been giving blood for years, mainly for health reasons but it is important.
I do a ton of charity work which makes me feel like i'm making a difference, even if it's very small.
It's weird because i don't do much for myself, most of what i do is for others.
Considering how selfish i am overall, i do have a few good traits for certain things.

Don't think so much, DD.

Just live until you die and forget about it.
Listen to hard rock and metal.

This is so. It is something I need to focus on so that I won't focus on the subject of this thread so much as it is almost always in the back of my mind. Thank you for the reminder!

Would it matter if you knew? I'm not being contentious.. just curious. I KNOW at best I have 20 good years left. But if I had a crystal ball and learned it wa 15... or 10,,, I don't think I could live my life much differently. I really do try and live life to the fullest, though not every day. Sometimes I waste a day just chilling. But most weeks I have cool things scheduled and do what I like. No one really knows how much time they have left. We all hope for the best but I'm 60 now. I joined this board almost 20 years ago. That's about what I have left.. it is eye opening and I would guess people in their 50's and younger don't think about it much. I know I didn't.

Well yes, If I knew I only had 5 years, I wouldn't work another day and just ration my money until the end

ever wonder about that phrase "death and taxes cant be avoided" or something like that? for most people 5 days out of each 7 days of their life pass them by, sacrificed to work and make money, in order to pay taxes until you die and if you have any leftover, the state takes it all unless you have heirs, then they get taxed before they get that money that you were already brutally taxed on through income tax and cumulative inflation over your lifetime. life is very fucked up and then there is death which is infinitely more fucked up, you start decomposing into a disgusting pile or rotting meat and you are just burried in to a hole in the ground and people go on like nothing happened after some days and take comfort in slogans, platitudes, spirituality and religion, it's all very confusing really

I read a thing today stating that the difference between 1970 (my birth year) and 2022 is the same as the difference between 1970 and 1918 (my much beloved Great Grandfather fought in those WW1 trenches)
Kinda made me think for a while...
Apologies that this adds nothing to the thread, just felt apposite

I`ve been close to death a few times too many.
It makes you realize your mortality,so I just try to live each day the best I can, and try to be a good person.
Nobody gets out alive, so LIVE while you are here......tomorrow isn`t guaranteed to any of us.

I literally watched Spinal Tap again for the 20th time last weekend, and I'm reminded of the final quote from the keyboard player
"Have a good time, all of the time"

Don't fear the first death, fear the second one.

Actually, the guy was in the hospital for a month with various complications.
He caught Covid in the hospital.
The docs wanted to classify his death as from Covid but he had got over Covid a week before he died.
His wife told the hospital no way did he die from Covid and wouldn't go along.

Hoping for another 30yrs.

Me too. That would put me at 80. Anything after that is downhill.
