Cavill was best & MoS was a great flick right from the first minute.
Reeves didn't put enough meat on his big frame and the original film had that slothful 70s pace, as did the second, and we just won't mention the rest.
Both Lois Lanes were dreadful.

I wish they would have found a way to include the "Kneel before Zod" in MoS....

Reeve, at 6' 4" along with his face and portrayal of both Kent and Kal remain the best interpretation of Superman. And given the deviancy of Hollyweird I doubt it will be surpassed.
Cavill did an excellent job with the role and it would have been nice if he continued in it. Hopefully he will be the next James Bond.
There was a short piece that I read on how could anyone not realize that Clark Kent was Superman. The person writing it said that during the filming of "Superman" at (I think) Pinewood Studios in London, there were times when Reeve went to lunch in his Superman costume and everyone just stared, especially so the women.
When Reeve went to lunch in his Clark Kent attire no one even noticed him. Maybe there is something to a secret identity?

I haven't watched the Cavill superman movies. Last Superman movie I watched was with Brandon Roth?
I loved the Christopher Reeves Superman's I and II. But hadn't seen them in at least 20 years. So a year or two ago I made it a movie night with my kids. The opening credits were hilariously loooooong. I kept telling them just wait til the actual movie starts. Then once the movie started it didn't get much better. All of my kids were asleep before the middle of the film. Funny, I didn't remember it being that slow.

Why are you asking us? How would we know what Superman movie you last watched?
Use of a question mark … Look into it.

Both Lois Lanes were dreadful.
Amy Adams is a beautiful woman.
Concerning the two actors’ portrayals, I dig them both.

Superman should be a skinny twink. He gets his strength from less gravity on Earth than on Krypton.

WTF is this juvenile stuff, definitely not DC animation? Is this the type of Superman movie Gunn is planning on making? This is like turning Clone Wars into Rebels.

You should watch Man of Steel. It's excellent. Russell Crowe is also in it! I really think that is the best Superman movie produced so far.

As a kid Reeve's Superman movies really captured my imagination. I thought it was awesome. My dad had to remind me it was not real lol!
I don't have a problem with both Lois Lanes. They are supposed to be awkward in their roles.

I like Amy Adams in any role, she was decent as Lois Lane?
Last Superman movie I watched was with Brandon Routh?
I think both Christopher Reeve and Henry Cavill did a great job as Superman?

Agreed. They both were great in their roles. Reeves was not as muscular but he was a few inches taller than Cavill which made up for the lack of mass. Both had a good facial structure to match the iconic Superman role.

Here is how he did it.
The transformation is incredibly subtle and brilliant.
The way he goes from Clark Kent to Superman, and then back to Supes with such skill and sincerity makes the performance both a dual identity and different sides of the same personality.
He really sells the concept of people not seing how Clark is the incarnation of Truth, Justice and the American Way.

I vote for man of steel because of his uncanny ability to pick up road cones

Those glasses were a great disguise along with Wonder Woman letting her hair down.

Know what you mean. If he can stop a speeding locomotive without breaking a sweat how's he supposed to 5x5?

Don "The Ripper" Ross -
.
Was Reeves's trainer for the film. He mentioned that they didn't have much time to get him ready for it, so they didn't do a lot of chest work, they mainly focused on shoulders, neck, and traps, the studio wanted a wide look.
Ross also mentioned that weights weren't Reeves's thing, but he was a hard worker when he needed to be.

I loved the films as a kid, there was something magic feeling in films back then.
Yea now the first movie is very long and slow but
I do like bits from all Reeves superman films.
Superman v the other kryptonians and the one where he turns bad and starts knocking over parking meters and flicking nuts in the bar smashing glasses was fun.
Then Clark separating and fighting superman was interesting, i like how supwrmans suit went to dark blue, subtle and clever.
Reeve was the perfect superman

and then the producers of the Superman franchise sold the rights Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus, who made Superman IV : the Quest for Peace....

We had more patience when we were young
You could watch a "slow" movie back then and find it exciting
We didn't have much to compare with either back in the 70s

Superman the movie came out the year before i was born so as a kid seeing that on tv it was high end sfx. Even now despite the film not really matching all the the time with Reeve flying it feels more real than everything done with cgi today, much more effort and proper film making.
Like when they made 2 van dammes in double impact, the lengths went to to achieve them being on screen together were time consuming and extensive, now they just place them together with cgi and it loses the magic.

This is the reason why modern ADHD-suffering audiences treated Man of Steel so unfairly. It resulted in a divisive performance, both critically and financially.
The embarassing feud between MCU & DCEU shut-in fanboys didn't help either...

This is juvenile I agree. That is what it's for: marketing to the new generations. When the next movie is released to the theaters the kids will want the parents to take them.
James Gunn has found his Superman and Lois Lane.
After a lengthy search, David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan will star in Superman: Legacy, the film that will launch DC’s new universe under writer-director Gunn and his DC Studios co-boss, Peter Safran.
