Bread & butter ..simple as that !

Weren't "Yates rows" a thing because of his spine injuries? And the later underhand grip "a thing" because of his rotator cuff injuries?
Weren't Yates rows the only way he could perform the exercise because of Mentzer HIT induced injuries?

much better using a seated single arm row machine where you can support your low back

I found this to be a good option. If you can touch your body to the bar every rep you're stronger than me but that's not saying much.

Sad seeing how banged up he is now. Makes me wonder if his surgeon is a hack. He was worse after every operation.

Easily the best exercise for lats, but if you are lat dominant, you may wanna skip them, don't wanna grow out of proportion
-
Never got shit from that variation. Bent over almost parallel to the ground is far better for me.

That is one heavy duty piece of equipment. I like the chrome handles.

Always did the way Arnold, Pearl and the rest of that era did it. Bent over standing on a block so the plates won't hit. I think Arnold and Franco did it balancing on a bench.
-
Much easier on the lower back.
-
I like to do both, classic style and yates style. I also like to pull from a dead stop on rack too.

Yeah do both but if also doing DB rows i just do Yates rows. I just don´t feel my back with machines, cables are good though at various angles.

My back is fine...you are the one with Bulging discs ( your words on here) although you preach your training methods on here.
Funny that :D

Yes,I get a great contraction from these but it’s difficult to add weight

I could do that stack with 5 lb plates.

so if your training is so perfect why do you admit to having Bulging discs?
I am asking an honest question here unlike your trolling.
-
oh well...never mind :D
Yates rows are safe if not going over your limits & that is what gets injuries not the exercise.
Dorian built the best lower lats in history.

I hurt my back when I was 23, did a set of squats wth 20 a side to keep my legs warm waiting for the leg press, one stupid fucking mistake I have paid for the rest of my life
I have managed to carry on training sensibly and competing and winning shows up until my 58th birthday
Made a mistake, learned from it
Thats why I advise anyone who wants to listen , squats are not for everyone.

Correct, I remember in interview he said that his surgeon fucked him up, unnecessary operations, one worst than the other..

Maybe you should have warmed up better, maybe your form was bad...
Maybe someone should have showed you how to squat properly ;)

How many reps can you do touching your body to the bar? I found it's a great movement at the end of a lat routine. I find the first few reps I can touch my body to the bar then as I get weaker I can't so I do partials.
