I do not think that word (literally) means what you think it does 🤣. I do agree that he is clearly superior to everyone else on the stage.
Is it just me or does everyone agree that this line up (sans AJ) is not even in the same realm as the guys from the 90’s. I don’t understand why this is? Shouldn’t BB have progressed???

Bodybuilding seems to have peaked 30-40 years ago.

Insane, there is one shot I think the side chest.
Where he has these insane cross satiations on his outer pec
Glad they didn’t give it to the fridge hunter
-
He still lost the back comparison to Hunter. He is going to have issue with Samson or even Krizo is he dials it in both guys are the same height but much bigger especially if Samson can bring in his back Krizo is going to out muscle him as well he looks great until these guys stand next to him then his arms and back look undersized. His midsection is great but he doesn't have their mass yet and doesn't look to have the same kind fo size genetics.

I agree, but isn’t it odd that pretty much every other “sport” (I know - I know 😕) progresses. Athletes (there I go again) tend to want to go beyond those who they grew up admiring. I opine that BB has gone TOO mainstream. With all of the different categories/ divisions - the talent is watered down. I may just be a grumpy old man, but I feel like any of the guys from the late 80’s and 90’s could DOMINATE today.

We all remember the guys from the 80s and 90s being bigger because we were smaller when we first started following the sport. The guys from the 80s would have no chance today. There were a lot of good guys in the 90s but they would still have a hard time today. It may not be as deep today but the top guys are pretty good.

BB has regressed, because no one gets ultra-shredded anymore and diets like a Spartan,or thinks about building a balanced physique,or presentation/posing routines, also, why are calves overlooked these days,.....it`s just chemical warfare to be the biggest pile of shit you can be on stage.
The bigger pile of shit you are,the more rewards you receive in way too many cases.

You make a great point. It used to be understood that in order to step on stage and not embarrass yourself, you would need to suffer. Putting the effort in and enduring pain / discomfort in order to achieve a goal was actually a thing. Now you have morons saying that “all food is good” wtf???

I have argued thst pros are much leaner on average compared to 80s and 90s. Leanness is mostly diet (genetics and the rest too) and evidently guys didn't diet as hard back in the day. I don't think they are lazier either. It's become an even more all consuming acrivity. Now they have to post pics every day lol, it's all about the body 24/7.
Mentzer said bb had only progressed in one aspect: more quadriceps mass. Not quite true but still an interesting observation. Even something like the angled leg press could have contributed a lot.

bhank , dorian, flex , cormier, ronnie , kevin would wipe the stage with these clowns today.

Succinctly put....exactly what I was getting at. ;)

Van,if they are much leaner today, how come some guys have shredded glutes and an overall smooth watery look on the rest of their entire body?
It can`t be from just holding water,or their glutes would look soft also.
Just my 3 CC`s, but todays guys eat way too much and don`t diet nearly as hard as the guys from the 70`s through the 90`s because instead of going by how they look in the mirror, they all want to weigh as much as possible......bodyweight seems to take precedence over extreme conditioning is a whole lot of cases.

The average BMI of the competitors has progressed, not sure much else has.
