On Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023, the Biden administration announced that they waived 26 federal laws in South Texas to allow border wall construction, marking the administration’s first use of a sweeping executive power employed often during the Trump presidency. The Department of Homeland Security posted the announcement with few details outlining the construction in Starr County, Texas.

Well shouldn't the morons who donated their money to Bannon's theft and other wall projects at least get something in return?

Good to see you admit Bite'm is corrupt. :)

Nobody should be defending Biden here.
If he acted in the best interest of the country, he would have been expanding the wall day one.
But instead, he had to reverse everything that Trump did to score political points.
He should be impeached over the handling of the border, and it would be legitimate.

What happened to "border czar" Kamala? What did she did do about this issue for 2 and a half years?
Biden tasks Harris with 'stemming the migration' on southern border
March 24, 2021
President Joe Biden announced Wednesday that he has appointed Vice President Kamala Harris to lead efforts to stem migration across the U.S.-Mexico border, as the administration faces growing political pressure to address a surge in undocumented migrant children unaccompanied by parents.
Biden said during an immigration meeting at the White House that he had asked Harris to lead the administration's efforts with Mexico and the Northern Triangle — El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, countries that will "need help stemming the movement of so many folks, stemming the migration to our southern border."
A senior administration official said Harris' role would focus on "two tracks": both curbing the current flow of migrants and implementing a long-term strategy that addresses the root causes of migration. Cabinet members, including the secretary of state, are expected to work closely with Harris on these issues.

I don't believe building walls around borders does much if anything to stop the influx of illegal immigrants. 2,500 years ago, Chinese leaders instituted wall-building projects to protect the land from northern, nomadic invaders which was unsuccessful at keeping Genghis Khan's Mongolian army out. Border walls are more symbolic than successful. But hey, the U.S. isn't alone in this endeavor. Somewhere around 45 countries have or plan to build border walls.

Since your perverted pant-shitting hero took office, over 3 million illegals have entered and are sucking the system dry... (And are trafficking kids and drugs).

I believe Electrified fencing & Land mines along with infra red
cameras connected to machine guns that shoot anything that approaches
should have a significant effect.

You're old enough to know better than this. Will a wall 100% stop illegals? No. Will it deter and slow them? Yes. Not rocket science here.

You are correct. Something is better than nothing which isn't saying much in this case. Most experts agree the border walls work best when there is sufficient manpower to patrol them. Manpower is expensive as is the cost of building and maintaining additional border walls. Many folks, including our Representatives in the House strongly oppose increases in spending. Therein lies the conundrum. Something and someone must compromise if they are to reach an agreement.
Do you personally know people or anyone who works as a border patrol agent? If so, it behooves you to have a conversation with them about what does and does not work. By most estimates, the U.S. border patrol needs somewhere around 22,000 - 23,000 employees to be effective. Senior border patrol agents with overtime average annual salary are nearly $150,000.
My cousin is a career border patrol agent who has mostly worked at the southern border, but also at the border between the U.S. and Canada. He is a senior agent specializing in the Horse Patrol Unit (HPU).
This article is outdated, but the principles therein still apply. A wall can only do so much.

So you’re saying and repeating the same BS when Trump was trying to get funding that “walls don’t work”?

Hold on.... policies don't equal high crimes and misdemeanors. Each President has the god given right to screw up the border situation apparently. Biden says the funds for the wall inacted under Trump HAVE to be spent on walls even if he disagrees with the success.
I wasn't a fan of border wall construction under any president. Not that I don't think we need regulated immigration, but having lived in Texas and family from the valley, it was clear to me border walls were an expensive undertaking with questionable results. But impeachment? You are one of the sane posters here. Either say that you were a bit emotional or expound on what an impeachment trial over this would look like and the likely outcome

It’s not a screw up. It’s intentional

I was sent to El Paso around early1992 with a drug dog team to help assist the border patrol in their efforts to stifle drugs from coming across. It was just a 90 day TDY. It was quite a learning experience. It was about that time I decided the "war on drugs" was not working. We have and never will stem the flow of drugs.. But illegal immigration was also a part of it. And if you've never been to the border of Texas.... the idea of building a wall from point A to Point B is insane. Then monitoring it.. it's a big ask
I'm all for controlled borders. But I'm also for wise spending. In my opinion, the key to actually controlling illegal immigration is a combination of border security and.. and this is the big one.. creating a connected system that makes sure not one single illegal resident has access to schools, government assistance or medical without paying cash. That would be the biggest stem. We will still have people come across, but it will reduce the percentage

I believe he put Americans lives at risk for political gain, and is directly responsible for the continued ruin of American cities.
It was known that his reversal of Trump's policy on day was going to lead to a surge, which it certainly did. Biden didn't need to do this one - and it was clear it was going to put tremendous strain on our country.
We've since had 2+ years of inactivity letting in millions of folks illegally and will feel the ramifications of this for a long time.
It was all unavoidable too.
Whether walls "work" or not is secondary to the perception here.
Biden should have kept the wall going, kept Trump's policies, and driven towards immigration reform.
