He was an excellent powerlifter back in his day, but this seems staged / fake weights.
Bar has zero bend, makes a light tap when racked, etc... Love his gym though...

Bro...

I agree looks fake. But would be equally pointless if it were real.

That 330 curl is insane.

Why would it be pointless? Do you even lift?

Falls into the "definitely maybe" pile. He was a high level lifter years ago, and sort of became a deadlift specialist later, and deadlift is one of the last lifts to go strength wise.

Looks fake to me too, and the way he says "that's it thank you" like he is fresh as a daisy and can't hide his bs.

The way the bar leaves his hands it gives it away.

A better lit video -
.
Just noticed all the bigger deadlifts are off blocks.
Also the squats are really quarter squats -
.
I think a lot of the feats fall under strong guy, plus loose form and judging, which both harms and helps him credit-wise.

Showing off lifting a weight for a single rep is pointless. It won't build muscle, especially if they are fake weights.

Is the only type of training of value what builds muscle most effectively? People lift for different reasons.

Not in Powerlifting it isnt. Its what counts... Powerlifters dont care to look like BB's, just trying to lift the most for 1 rep.
But yes, if weights are fake, very pointless. Guy was strong as F**k in his day though.
At 220 lbs (age 30) he benched 515, Squatted 705 and pulled 640... Youll notice in a meet when in his 70's he pulled 515.
Still very strong, but not 700+...

Strong ole guy- but he still looks like shit.

The good thing is its Mikes business how he looks (no one should care) and he's not a libturd.
So theres that...

If he was wearing the homeless clothes with the new haircut would he still look like a business man, because he could have kept the mop top and put the suit on and he would have looked like a business man.
So if men wear suits they look respectable regardless of hair styles.

Looks like an old guy wearing the uniform of a hotel receptionist
