main event is up next... co main was awesome
-
Its like Ali and the Japanese wrestler
-
it will probably look like this if not rigged:

I didn't realize this is this fella's first professional boxing match.
-
Francis just knocked down Fury!
-
NGANNOU Dropped Fury but he got back up in the 3rd
-
Heading into the 8th Round, and I've got Ngannou ahead on points.
Fury looks like shit in there.
-
Round 8, probably the decider that gives it to Ngannou. Fury boxing in the 9th like he should've the whole fight.
-
.
-
As much as I hate things like this happening because it makes UFC fruits like Hankins think they can rag doll boxers, Francis won this.
-
Amazing it was such a close fight and he dropped him lets see what the judges say but regardless it was his first boxing match against the guy most people consider he best of his generation great job Frances
-
They robbed him, especially that middle card.
-
They robbed him, especially that middle card.
Did Fury win?
-
Frances looked like the real boxer, the stats have fury winning but Ngannou looked more impressive
-
Bullshit decision
-
Did Fury win?
Split for Fury. One judge for Ngannou. One almost tied. One judge huge for Fury.
-
Did Fury win?
Fury won a razor-close decision, but Ngannou looked better. Post-fight interviews, Fury looked shook, and Ngannou looked untouched. It's crystal clear who the baddest man on the planet is right now.
-
Whoa.....
Tyson should count his lucky stars. I definitely would love for them to run it back.
Much better fight than I thought it'd be. Props to Francis.

This is great for Francis after getting treated like shit bye the ufc he will secure a big money rematch
-
fury is vaxxed and degraded.. fighting scared
they both looked vaxxed and degraded.
shit show
-
I need to see Francis vs. Wilder or that big robotic pussy Anthony Joshua!
-
The Suadis already paid for Tyson vs Usyk in Dec no way they were letting him lose a decision.
-
usyk is big middlewight hes not on francine furys level. Ngannu is a hungry bastard his story is inspiring. The fighters deserve that pay day i can only imagine the headaches
-
I think Fury underestimated Francis........he looked gassed in a lot of the rounds.

TF never has the stage-ready look but he looked particularly fat and sloppy tonight.

Yeah he always look soft, but he did look extra shitty.
I don`t subscribe to the "ring rust" theory as long as the guy trains hard with good sparring partners pre-fight, but he had been out since last Dec. and was probably not training and eating like shit.
Frances looked tired as Hell also......but Fury, still undefeated by a hair.
-
i bet them saudis are taking turns running a train on tyson furys asshole. since they paid the judges off for him.
-
fury is testing fedors ice cream and potatoes diet with argo starch milk shakes

I think Lomachenko soundly beat Devin Haney, but they gave Haney the win. :(

Usyk will school Fury over twelve rounds and would do the same to Francis.
-
I thought Fury retired already.
-
Ngannou exceeded almost everyones expectations, but this is just typical Fury. A journeyman fighter probably has the same chance of beating him as a highly skilled fighter.
Whoever he fights he will raise his game (or lower it) to that level. He's always been that way.
Fury vs Usyk has lost all it's hype now. Both coming from shitshows in their last fights which they lost, but got wins on paper.
-
He looked like he'd dropped some weight but gained a bum in his lower back, weird fat storage going on with Fury.

I lost it when one of the analysts described his physique as looking like a bag of milk

Usyk easily beat & stopped Dubois
No ifs or buts.
as for last nights showing - as I've not watched the whole fight yet
is hard to reallsay who should've won.
From what little i have seen Fury didn't look at all good.

Usyk got KOed by a body shot. The fight should have ended there.
This was called a low blow. Usyk should have been counted out after that gut punch floored him, instead he got told to take as long as he needs to recover.

Would love to see the best Trainers with the Best PEDs turn Tyson Furys physique into a 12 % bodyfat Beast
-
man I miss the days of REAL boxing heavy weights... wow... what has the sport of boxing degraded into...
can you imagine any of today's "champs" contending against the boxers from the past.. holy shite...
Hearns, Haggler and Sugarray fighting way out of their weight class would take today's heavyweights forget ali, foreman, tyson, holyfield, lewis, holmes.... heck... even Riddick Bowe would knock these out of shape pub brawlers down in the 1st round.
sad
-
After further review, Francis won that fight...
I have an arsenal of pros fighters that would agree.
Fury should be ashamed of himself.

Usyk has been stopped x3 at the pro level with body shots and somehow bullshitted his way out of being counted out.

bwa ha ha i menat whipe out, damm auto correct he is married now with kids his wife looks pretty good, he is one of the very few hw's that didnt go broke , lewis holmes and foreman are the only ones from that era that did not go broke.

So was this outcome on purpose?
I was flabbergasted. I didn't intend to watch it, but found a replay link online when my friend [[IMO, the best boxer in my area] told me how close it is. I couldn't believe it, so u had to check it out.
Flexacon: are you saying Fury "carried" Ngannou in some way...or did I misunderstand you?
My only explanation was - I guess Fury going up to 400-lb while being addicted to alcohol and cocaine played a factor. Maybe that put some miles on his heart.

Nah not on purpose. More a mental/subconscious thing with him. His preparation, approach to training, tactics etc. Basically his head seems to be all over the place and if he's over confident or not worried then he's very beatable.
Any time he's rocked hard in a fight you can see his fight or flight response kick in, he's suddenly more focused and a better fighter. Happened here with Ngannou too.

heavyweight boxing has been a farce for a long time, truck drivers, failed sports players, bullied losers, and basically any unskilled tall guys who couldnt be basketball players, 70% of there fights are against delivery drivers

If Mike Tyson hadnt been hand fed opponents who made him look good for the first 2 years and put in with some decent fighters early he wouldnt have been anywhere near as good as he was
He was probably the best managed fighter ever
Imagine if he had lost his lets say 6th fight, do you really think he would have still had the same self believe?

The face of the winner. ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

That ole silly argument.
1.A little later I'll find the pic of where the blow did actually land
& it isnt where your pic shows.
2. IF you think it was a legal punch Take it up with the Ref as he called
it a low blow & allowed the time to recover,
3. Dubois hardly attacked Usyk when the fight resumed - nope he
just continued to get battered.
4. By boxing rules any blow below the Navel is a low blow
even in your pic that blow is below the navel.
5. Dubois quit on his knee yet again - hardly the spirit of a want
to be world champion,
-

great post and totally true.
i was a huge die hard mike tyson slap happy fan, when younger, and a die hard boxing fan.
tyson was marketed and managed well. alot of so called boxing fans on here, forget he barely beat tony tucker, james douglas put and ass whipping .
he lost almost all his major fights. quit in a few as well- aka danny williams, kevin mcbride, and got himself dq in the second holyfield fight. i would recon prime ray mercer would have made him quit as well.

1, Tell me what other 19 20 yr old heavyweight isnt spoon fed opponents
2, Youngest ever heavyweight champion
3, He beat 3 world champions to unify the heavyweight title
4, Time how long Douglas was down for if it had been timed correctly Tyson
would've been the winner
5, Soon as that Khvnt Don king got hold of him Tyson was on the downward slide
6, When king got rid of Kevin Rooney as his trainer -the writing was clearly on
the wall for Mike.
7, Had Cus lived longer & Rooney stayed as his trainer Mike's potential & best years would've lasted a lot longer.
8, Sad to see mike floundering in his later fights , not having trained & no
proper decent coach team behind him losing to boxers he'd of destroyed as a 21yr old.
9, Tyson v lewis both at their best would've been one hell of a fight.
Tyson well past his best & openly admitted he did virtually no training for the
fight still lasted was it 8 rounds against arguably the best heavyweight champ ever.
Yes a lot of If's & but's surrounding Mike - he was a one off young phenomenal
champion who peaked early was mishandled & exploited, A talent wasted
& a case of what could've been.

all your points are true, but tyson did all that to himself he chose to fire his trainer rooney and his management team
he had the world at his fingers when out of prison as well, he was making 30 million per fight and pissed it all down the drain. he could have been the richest hw prize fighter ever
i am not denying he is the biggest draw of all time. he could have been more.

ESPN once ran a Tyson marathon of all his professional fights from start to finish. The first 20 or so opponents were total tomato cans. I can't believe they were even pro fighters.

I certainly wouldn't of wanted to get in the boxing ring with him ,
Would you ?

That was always the name of the game. Every prospect had their career carefully managed to ensure that they were still undefeated and a big draw by the time they were matched with another prospect.
If you were a decent, Olympic-level amateur, you'd be given so-called journeymen for your first 15 or so fights. These guys are essentially paid to lose. They fight at short notice and push the fighter enough to help them learn, but they know that the task is not to win.
One funny example of it going wrong not too long ago was when a young and undefeated Amir Khan was matched with the Columbian knockout artist Breidis Prescott. Khan got his head taken off in the first round, and old fisheyes Frank Warren was fucking raging, lol. He was running around for weeks afterwards trying to blame everyone else for telling him Prescott would be a good match.

Interesting stuff, how do you know this is how it works?
I was always around boxing. Boxed amateur in various gyms across the UK, boxed full-time in the military for a little while, and I was turning professional before I decided against it. I used to know that referee in the gif, actually. A few of my friends boxed professional too.
It's really not a glamorous game at all. Unless you had the backing of the few big-name promoters, you were really up against it. Small-hall shows for a few hundred pounds a fight, difficult match-ups, expected to sell your own tickets, working full-time as well as training. It's shit. I would have been a manager's worst nightmare, too. There's no way I'd have done anything to promote myself as I found it all wince-inducing. Literally the only part of boxing I loved was training and competing. I hated the fans and everything else.
There's guys on here (Che and Walter and maybe some more) who boxed at a higher level than me, I think. I'd suspect they likely had the same experiences of it over in the US.

I worked out in a boxing gym for a few years where pro boxers trained. Most guys who started fighting as pros only lasted a short time because of the reasons you stated. We had guys who were undefeated for the first 5 or 6 fights only lose interest after the first loss.

Yeah, if you're an unknown pro with a record of something like 5-2, 8-3, and so on, you're pretty much on the scrapheap. You can become a professional journeyman and make reasonable pay by fighting to lose, or you can basically get brain damaged for next to no money at all. It is a brutal way to eke out a living.
One of the good things to come from the rise of the UFC, is that people have grown tired of the boxing model. Fans are sick of intransigent old promoters blocking the best fights, and people no longer really care about some manufactured 'undefeated' label. They just want to see the best fighters compete against each other on a level playing field.
-
Thanks for that, always good to learn from people in the know.
Agreed with what you said in the last post, it's much clearer and easier in the ufc, alot of faffing around in boxing setting up fights and people like Fury not actually defending belts holding up the division.

My pleasure, mate. Yes, the Fury family have really done a disservice to boxing recently with the YouTube stuff and risking the Usyk fight, in my opinion.

great physique here on Mr. Grant 8)

I like Fury in one way, he's a character and brings hype, no one can say he's boring and he's not actually doing anything against wbc rules. But them allowing special bouts like ngannou gets in the way, idealy the belt should be defended eveey 90 to 120 days i believe. Not very exciting for fans waiting so long for a big title defence.

I've always been a big fan of Tyson Fury, and he's had a great career, but I feel like he really embarrassed the game with his latest escapade, and could have really damaged Usyk's chances of making serious money with the fight that should have been made between the two. i'm gaining size now but i must be mindful not to go over 2 bills in case i do decide to get back into the game ;D ;D ;D
on a side note what an aesthectic hot bod on fury :P :P :P
great physique here on Mr. Grant 8)
Anywhere from lightweight to welterweight, depending on how much time I had. I always found it easy to drop a lot of weight, so I could get to lightweight with around 2 months of hard dieting. Later on, when I bulked up a lot and still hit the bag, I lost all my speed and stamina. I actually felt like I didn't hit as hard, too.

Honestly i think he totally underestimated Ngannou, something you should never do and he said he wouldn't. I think he thought he'd own him no question, now as you say it looks embarassing.
I've always been a big fan of Tyson Fury, and he's had a great career, but I feel like he really embarrassed the game with his latest escapade, and could have really damaged Usyk's chances of making serious money with the fight that should have been made between the two. It has lost a bit of its prestige now.
