Black people always try and ruin everything ;D
Dolph was a beast during that time.
Have known for decades about Sly being injured during a ring scene.
Lundgren was/isn’t a joke. And in 1985, tangling with him was serious business, for action scenes OR for real.
I can imagine. Carl Weathers is/was considered as a good actor that had ability to be leading character as well as supporting character. One of those passionate, studious types that really gets into the 'art'. There was a similar hatred between Martin Shaw and Lewis Collins in The Professionals. Shaw was one of those Shakespearean trained classical actors that studied it as an art form whereas Collins was just lucky to get a part in it as an alpha male man's man. Shaw thought he was far superior than Collins; whom he considered a joke. They hated each other but did the parts for the money.
Weathers probably thought of Lundgren as just a 'tough guy' with no talent for the screen. Probably jealous of him, tbh.
Carl was a good athlete and looked like a million bucks he was a huge part of Rocky’s success no doubt
Sylvester Stallone decided that for the shooting of the fight in "Rocky IV" (1985), he and Dolph Lundgren should hit one another for real, so as to increase the intensity of the scene. After doing three takes of Rocky taking shots to ribs, Stallone felt a burning in his chest, but ignored it. Later that night, he had difficulty breathing and was taken to a nearby emergency room. It was discovered that his blood pressure was over 200, and he had to be flown on a low-altitude flight from Canada to St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, where he remained in intensive care for four days. What had happened was that Lungren had punched him so hard in the chest, Stallone's heart had slammed up against his breastbone and began to swell, cutting off the blood supply and restricting the oxygen flow throughout the body.Yeah it was the punch and not the mountain of blow he was doing. Guy was juiced to the gills and ingesting mountains of blow in his late 30s. Obviously the insurance company could read between the lines.
Stallone's insurance company thought he was faking it, saying that his injuries looked more "from head-on collisions when the steering wheels hit you in the chest." Stallone replied, "Have you seen Dolph Lundgren? That's a truck! That's a steering wheel! That's a head-on collision!" His insurance company honored the claim soon after that.
Dolph was a beast during that time.Really good Karate fighter in a very brutal style.

It's like Van Damme being Bipolar, you're not bipolar, you did mountains of blow and became bipolar as a result.
No different than the land whale claiming to be big boned.
Really good Karate fighter in a very brutal style.
Really brutal fighter in a Karate style.
Yeah, him, Dolph, and Sly, are manly men (no homo). There was no shortage of T on that movie set.
Stallone did SO much boxing training over the course of all those films his trainer has stated the dude developed legit pugilist skills and could punch like a demon.
fortress i truly beleive that he brought in joe frazier to spar with for rocky 3 stallone said frazier killed him. every actor who has worked with stallone said he had more will power than anyone.
Referencing that tough guy thread, there’s very little doubt Sylvester is a tough guy.
Throughout the decades many have spoken of his willpower, grit and determination.
Put it this way, in a fight between him and The (j) Oak, in their primes, Fortress’s bank would be on Rambo.
Funnily enough, I randomly ended up watching Predator again at the weekend. Like Silence of the Lambs, or maybe Aliens, it's one of those films that if I stumble across a replay I've gotta watch the whole thing (again) I always thought Weathers held up against the bigger guys on set
And I've confessed on here before that when I first started training, I had in my mind (oh brother) Dolph as He-Man... homo confirmed... :-[
