Sounds like the guy was a fighter, but lost a tough battle...

Stomach cancer, caused rip in lining, allowing bacteria to flow out of his stomach into his bloodstream...
(Why he lost limbs, bacteria infection, but cancer still got him in the end).

Hate Cancer

This lifestyle couldn't have helped
-
Awful.

That's sad...but why did he continue to compete, in light of these health problems? ???
I could understand if the situation was totally hopeless...then just do what you love. But if there was any hope to reverse his health issues...it may have been the right time to do that.
Now may not be the time to say that...but admittedly, I was triggered to after seeing that picture.

WTF that's wild I didn't know that could even happen. Bacteria leaking and then fucking your limbs up.

For the few idiots on here ( a bb site) wondering why bodybuilders continue the lifestyle. Its because they enjoy it. Thats it. Go to a free climbing site or sky diving site or caving or mountain climbing etc... tons of dangerous hobbies with numerous deaths every year out there... Go join those sites and tell them to stop their hobbies whenever somebody dies.
Mountain climbing involves training where you are taught to ignore the bodies you see while climbing because its just a fact that people die on those slopes.
This is a niche hobby. Those that enjoy it do it on their own dime on their own time.

I doubt BB had anything to do with what happened to him... Millions of people get stomach cancer.
Its not a known side-effect of gear as far as I know. If he used, it looks ike he used very little. He competed in NGA (natty org)...
WE know how Natty Orgs can be, but still...

At least he was muscular during his brief time on this earth.

It's funny how this needs to be said on here every now and then. ;D

But in this case, it was him who was dying.
Also, MUST bodybuilding always be All Drugs?
That may be a bit of a rhetorical question.
I think it's possible to train without gear, although I typically trained in the low rep range because I always felt gaining muscle mass was pretty futile for naturals. I felt our natural maximums as men was closer to the juiced max for strength potential, as opposed to building muscle tissue.
But even breaking down juiced bodybuilding...bulking PED's and cutting PED's have different risk profiles. Was competing and dehydrating himself down really necessary for him to benefit from bodybuilding?
If it made him happy, that's good. He just looks very young, and he seemed to have writing on the wall. But hey...it was his life. And to be fair, I don't even know to what extent bodybuilding made his condition worse. He obviously had bad luck. Maybe that's all there was to it.

The fear of becoming small and not turning heads anymore was bigger than the fear of death.

There's a big difference in how you are treated, I have to say. I stopped training for 4/5 years, until 4 months ago. I noticed a huge difference in the way people speak to you.

.
Him discussing it. Being big actually helped him stave off dying. He had a muscle eating infection that usually kills people in a few days, he had enough muscle that it slowed it down, and gave the doctors enough time to treat it.
RIP. Honestly when you're in that bad of a way, the best thing is to go out on your own terms. .

This. I am not good at tolerating pain. It'd be a case of going to the local nature reserve and digging up my trusted tool. Ending it opposite a lake watching the swans/ducks do their thing on one of the benches. I'd never let it get to the point where I need my ass wiped or can't get myself out of bed. The quality of life would not be worth living.
