Title: There Were Others - Comics that were forgotten
Post by: sync pulse on November 09, 2023, 07:09:30 PM
Film Fans know about WC Fields, The Marx Brothers, Laurel and Hardy, Three Stooges, Abbott & Costello and so forth... (I am paying attention to sound shorts right now)

But most don't realize that there were other comics that are almost totally forgotten now.

Here is one...Leon Errol with a series of his two reeler shorts.

This one is special...The first commercially released film in three strip color...It's been quoted that you could hear the first 1934 audiences gasp when they would run it

Edit: The guy in the straw hat at 8:50 is Billy Bletcher

Mantan Moreland was a great comedic actor.  He is featured in at least three "Charlie Chan" films with his partner Ben Carter doing their  famous "indefinite talk" routine.  Comedic gold.

Yes, I am old.  ;D

The 30's were my 2nd favorite decade of movies with the 70's being the 1st. Love TCM because these types of movies are on everyday.
