Sometimes it would be a mix of real and fake so it would look like some real work was happening, but from the way the bar was moving, etc... I wouldn't be surprised if that was the full Ivanko aluminum trade show set that they lend or sell to movies and mags. On that set, the #45s were around #17lbs each, and had the metal ring to them.
Neat, that old wrestling stuff still makes me smile.

In the early Nineties I watched Warlord bench 455. He did reps like it was 135 pounds.
Bonkers strength.

Ted told me in the lifting contest he did against Kaz in Canada (in ring) only a couple plates a side were real to make it look somewhat legit.
(To show some strain at least).
Always fake when it comes to Rasslin' and lifting feats...
