Watched The Fall of Minneapolis. Powerful. We really got played. I knew Floyd likely died of a fentanyl overdose, but I learned some new things. One of the most alarming things is two officers testified that the maximum restraint technique used by Derek Chauvin was not an approved technique, but the judge refused to allow a Power Point training slide showing the Minneapolis Police Department training its officers on how to use that same technique, with a picture of a guy with his knee in the same position of Chauvin.
Worth a watch.

The goddamn motherfucking chief of police testified that he'd never heard of maximum restraint technique. Bodycam footage of one of the officers performing CPR on Floyd was excluded from the trial. I was ignorant of the fact that it took 20 minutes for EMT to arrive, and that the police called for an EMT about 30 seconds after Floyd got his request to be put on the ground.

Based on the previous post, it would seem that it was the police chief who lied, and their defense attorneys did not challenge it. The media simply reported it.

Historically, martyrs including racial martyrs are remembered indefinitely. Christianity began as a sect of Jewish followers who after Jesus' death, believed he was the Messiah. Today, Christianity is the religion with the most followers. With an estimated 2.3 billion of them worldwide.

True. Although as I've said before on the board, I was wrong about what I initially thought happened to Floyd. It looked like Chauvin suffocated Floyd to death, based on the initial, selective clips that were posted. But in looking at the actual facts (science, evidence, etc.) that is NOT what happened. George Floyd died of a drug overdose.
That said, I doubt Chauvin gets out.

To be honest, I neither had nor currently have expectations of these or any other folks who I do not personally know. And because I do not know anyone personally who engaged in George Floyd’s funeral arrangements, I cannot guess whether they were ignorant or thick folks. Since George Floyd was black, it is understandable that black folks would likely be more invested in his funeral proceedings.
