Tiger is the one who fucked up. With all his injuries they still offered him nearly $1B to switch and he turned them down. Now they'll probably end up merging LIV and PGA anyway.

Clearly Tiger values loyalty more than Rahm. Rahm talked all about loyalty to the PGA then threw it out the window, a man lacking integrity.

Lol at these idiots at the PGA trying vilinaize Liv golf at first.

You must have missed the part where the PGA agreed to merge with LIV.
The PGA is the one who didn't show loyalty to their guys. They made people like Rory and Rahm look like idiots for showing them any loyalty.
Also lol@ using Tiger and loyalty in the same sentence.

The pga is stepping on the dicks and have been for sometime. So they make it a closed shop as far as LIV is concerned yet players are still bailing. It’s kind of amusing. I’m an avid golfer too but couldn’t care less what the tours do.
Now, the pga and Usga rolling back the golf ball distance in 2026 potentially…..that’s has a lot of amateurs livid.

Unless things have changed, no. LIV tour players can play in Majors though.
-
Merger deal is meant to be completed by the end of the year, but it's starting to unlikely.
The top PGA players who got screwed over by the PGA are now negotiating for their own slice of the pie from any merger.
The PGA is screwed either way and they deserve it. Merge and they become the 3rd wheel. Don't merge and they'll keep losing more of their big names to LIV.

exactly; they had rory ready to fight LIV defectors.
badmouthing everything about it right up to the last day
then he found out on the net that they merged. PGA didn't even have the courtesy of
a heads up.

Pro golfers usually have a brief period (a few years) at the peak of their game when they win, then they drop off.
Usually the ability to putt is where it happens. The nerves go. They get the yips.
There are exceptions like Nicklaus and a few others.
You better take the money and run.

This is long overdue. The equipment has ruined the game.

They can do stuff to the courses to make it harder. Narrow soft fairways, 6” + rough. Rock hard greens, add some strategically placed trees. The first three things don’t cost anything

It doesn't cost anything to change the ball so the players don't hit it 350.
Much cheaper than lengthening courses.
Some of golf's greatest courses can no longer be played by the pros because they cannot be lengthened.
The average PGA pro should not be able to hit the driver more than 240-260 yards like they did in the 70s.

The players just drive it right over trees and cut the doglegs.
That's what John Daly did when he won his first major. And Daly was only hitting it 300 then. He is exceptional like Nicklaus and Greg Norman as far as distance.
Norman was the tours longest accurate driver in his day and he averaged 280ish.
Players shouldn't be hitting 7 iron second shots into par 5s. That should be a fairway wood or a long iron.
Par 5s shouldn't have to be 600 yards +. Even that is reachable for these guys with mid irons now.

Unless things have changed, no. LIV tour players can play in Majors though.
Top 50 in the world can play the Majors, Masters winner can play until they retire from golf, If you've already won a Major you can play that Major again in their time frame of years you get to play after winning.
For instance Brooks Koepka won the PGA and he was able to play because he was a previous winner, by winning he gets into every Major the next few years and he also is top 50 in the world.
Rham having won two Majors will be playing all of them for the next few years at least.
