Title: House Votes to Formalize Impeachment Inquiry into Joe Biden
Post by: Coach is Back! on December 13, 2023, 07:31:23 PM
Mmmm….about that “zero evidence” 🤔

The House of Representatives on Wednesday voted to formalize an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden by a vote of 221 to 212.

The formally adopted status will enable House investigators to enforce subpoenas and gather evidence about whether the president is compromised and “traded official acts for foreign dollars,” according to House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).

Republicans unanimously voted to adopt the resolution. In a surprise, Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO), who had been critical of the Republicans’ impeachment focus and earlier indicated he would oppose the resolution, voted with his Republican colleagues to formalize the inquiry.

Democrats voted in a block to oppose the resolution’s adoption.

The White House failed to provide investigators:

Information about two loan agreements Joe Biden allegedly executed with James Biden for a total of $240,000.
99.98 percent of requested records from President Joe Biden, including alias emails.
Documents about an alleged $5 million bribe Joe Biden accepted.
Materials related to Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified documents.
The vote was a test for House Republicans, who only hold a slight majority that will shrink further this month after Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) announced resignation. Rep. Bill Johnson (R-FL) is also expected to leave in the new year to take a university post.

Speaker, McCarthy opened an “impeachment inquiry” into the president on September 12, but lawmakers did not vote to approve the measure until Wednesday.

“I don’t see the evidence of it,” Democrat Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) told Semafor about the inquiry, “But yes, when your own son and your own brother are clearly, at the very least unethical and at worst, doing illegal things — my goodness, of course the country pays attention to it.”

“I have a pit in my stomach about it,” a Democrat strategist who worked on Clinton’s 2016 campaign told the Messenger about the chaos surrounding Hunter Biden. “This Hunter story has the legs to ruin things for Biden.”

The vote occurred hours after a defiant Hunter Biden appeared at the Capitol for a press conference after failing to appear for a subpoenaed closed-door deposition Wednesday. Hunter’s business dealings and his father’s alleged knowledge and involvement will be a focal point for House investigators.

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) and Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) initiated contempt of Congress proceedings against Hunter after his failure to appear.

Recent polling shows Americans are highly skeptical of Hunter and Joe Biden:

ABC News/Ipsos: A plurality of Americans are not confident about how the Justice Department handled the investigation into Hunter Biden.
Yahoo/YouGov: A majority of voters believe President Joe Biden committed a crime with Hunter Biden.
TIPP: 63 percent say Joe Biden violated FARA by assisting Hunter Biden in Ukraine deal.
House investigators opened a probe into the Biden family in November 2022. They revealed Joe Biden received money from James and Hunter Biden. They also showed that nine additional Biden family members received payments from the family’s foreign business ventures, including two of Joe Biden’s grandchildren.

More evidence against Joe Biden can be found here and here.

The democrats know they can’t win with Biden. I guess since he won’t step down they are going to sacrifice the old fckr (they’ll make him a leftist martyr) to get that retard Newsome in.

If Trump gets to a place where he is pretty certain that they are going to railroad him, I hope he truly loved the country (as I think he does) enough to throw his weight behind Vivek. I just can’t imagine that the PTB will allow Trump back in.

The House of Representatives on Wednesday voted to formalize an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden by a vote of 221 to 212.

You still do not get the difference between actually having hard evidence and gathering evidence.

Big deal with the numbers. Tell me again how many Republicans there are in the House? The vote was strictly along party lines.

Actually I do know what hard evidence is. I also know what a whistleblower is, an affidavit, bank records, texts, emails, video, and pictures are as well. You know what’s it’s not? Hearsay

You know what else it is not? It is not the complete picture no has it been litigated. Otherwise, it could not be debunked as it has been.

Washington Post December 14, 2023

Over the past 24 hours, with a vote to formalize the impeachment investigation into President Biden looming in the House, Republican lawmakers have been pressed to identify what, exactly, they think Biden did. After all, a lot of Republicans — including Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa) — have publicly rejected the idea that evidence implicating Biden in wrongdoing exists.

Note: This is just a snippet of a detailed article in the Washington Post which outlines and debunks a lot of Comers claims. You can read it for yourself without a subscription just as I did.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/12/14/biden-impeachment-inquiry-comer-evidence/

No matter how many times Comer repeats the same nonsense it is proof of nothing and it cannot be proved. Don't believe me? That's fine. Time will tell which of us is full of shit.

It isn't nonsense.  It's facts.  The bank records are evidence.  The suspicious activity reports are evidence.  The texts and emails are evidence.  The witnesses, including Tony Bobulinski, are providing evidence.

They are all Hunter's records.   Its clear to even a blind person that he traded on his father's name to make money.   That doesn't mean that Joe approved it or helped him which is the proof you actually need.   A similar way to put it is that its like how Fergie traded off Queen Elizabeth's name to secure deals.

The proof that's need is either a direct link of funds from one of these businesses that Hunter worked for or a verified transcript, recording, etc of him discussing business with Hunter or one of these companies

That's incorrect.  They need to show that Biden OR members of his family benefitted from their influence peddling.  There is overwhelming evidence this happened.

"Senator Chuck Grassley admitted on Wednesday that House Republicans’ impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden hasn’t produced any facts pointing to wrongdoing on the president’s part.

“I have no evidence of it,” Grassley told CNN, just hours before House Republicans were set to vote to formalize the Biden impeachment inquiry. “I’m just going to follow the facts where they are, and the facts haven’t taken me to that point where I can say the president is guilty of anything.”

and

"Some House Republicans are openly admitting that they have no evidence to impeach President Joe Biden as they prepare to vote to officially launch a probe into him later this week.

When asked if Biden committed high crimes or misdemeanors, Rep. Don Bacon, R-Neb., told reporters on Tuesday, "Probably not."

and

While discussing his role in President Joe Biden's impeachment inquiry, Representative Michael McCaul, a Texas Republican, said on Sunday that the GOP does not have evidence that the president was bribed.

and

Forensic accountant Bruce Dubinsky, one of the GOP witnesses, undercut Republicans’ main narrative by saying there wasn’t enough evidence yet for him to conclude that there was “corruption” by the Bidens.

“I am not here today to even suggest that there was corruption, fraud or wrongdoing,” Dubinsky said. “More information needs to be gathered before I can make such an assessment.”

That's why I say let the chips fall where they may.....

The whole thing is set up to give Biden plausible deniability.

They're never going to find a picture of a chinese guy handing joe biden a big bag with a "$" on it, which is what it will seem to take for some people.

Let's see a recap - Biden attends business meetings (which he initially lied about) with his son's business partners (whom he initially lied about) and claims he never  talked business. Deals happen where Biden's family gets millions of dollars from industries where they have no expertise.  Then Biden receives "loan repayments" from his brother that are routed through shell companies......yeah sure.

Oh, and let's not forget Hunter himself said he gives his Dad half his money, said he was sitting next to his father when demanding payments, and Bobulinksi testified and corroborated that everything on the laptop is authentic, and flat out said Biden is the big guy.

Oh, and legitimate whistleblowers in the organizations have come forward saying their investigations were stalwarted.

C'mon man.

Perhaps not. Hunter is a 53-year-old adult who is allowed to make decisions for himself. What gives you the idea his father sent him anywhere? I do not know the exact timeline of Hunter's addiction to drugs and experience with hookers, but clearly, he had already been using drugs for some time since his ex-wife wrote in her memoir 'If We Break' that she first noticed his alcohol abuse in 2001. Where in this world can someone with a drug and alcohol problem work, live or visit which has no drugs, alcohol, or prostitutes?

Incidentally, prostitution is not illegal in North Korea. Although prostitution is illegal in Russia, there are around three million regular sex workers in the country.

Speaker Mike Johnson: 6 Points of Evidence Support Joe Biden Impeachment Inquiry Vote

The House will vote on formally opening an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden on Wednesday to enable the enforcement of subpoenas and empower the gathering of evidence about whether the president is compromised and “traded official acts for foreign dollars,” House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) wrote in a Tuesday USA Today op-ed.

Johnson’s op-ed sets the stage for the full House vote after the White House refused to comply with House investigators’ request for relevant documentation and records. The vote will be a test for House Republicans, who hold a slight majority over House Democrats. The measure will need nearly all Republican support.

Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) opened an “impeachment inquiry” on September 12, but lawmakers did not vote to approve the measure.
If the impeachment inquiry receives majority support on the House floor, the inquiry will be formally adopted, a status that Johnson says will help the House’s inquiry obtain information blocked by the White House.
Johnson, a constitutional lawyer and former member of the House Judiciary Committee, cited six cases of mounting evidence against Joe Biden that “cannot be ignored”:

Biden family members and Biden business-linked entities received more than $15 million from individuals in Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Romania, and China.

Joe Biden spoke with Hunter Biden’s business associates at least 22 times.

Joe Biden lied about his involvement in the business.

Joe Biden received “direct monthly payments” from Hunter Biden’s “Owasco PC” business account, which received “payments from Chinese-state linked companies and other foreign nationals and companies.”

Investigators flagged the Justice Department’s “deviations” in the five-year investigation into Hunter Biden.

An FBI FD-1023 form alleges Joe Biden accepted a $5 million bribe while vice president.

The House will likely need to go to court to enforce its subpoenas, and opening a formal inquiry – backed by a vote of the full body – puts us in the strongest legal position to gather the evidence and provide transparency to the American people,” Johnson wrote:

The American people have a right to know whether the president − through his family − traded official acts for foreign dollars, whether the president is compromised and whether Joe Biden abused his power as president to impede or obstruct the investigation into Hunter Biden. As we have done all along, House Republicans will continue to follow the facts where they lead.

House investigators opened a probe into the Biden family in November 2022. They revealed Joe Biden received money from James and Hunter Biden. They also showed that nine additional Biden family members received payments from the family’s foreign business ventures, including two of Joe Biden’s grandchildren.

You still do not get the difference between actually having hard evidence and gathering evidence.

Big deal with the numbers. Tell me again how many Republicans there are in the House? The vote was strictly along party lines.

Then you go on to post a copy and paste article with zero evidence and a link to were evidence might be found. Good luck to House Republicans relying on evidence provided by Breitbart as hard evidence of anything.
