Did Tom have a stroke, or Bells Palsy??
he took his face to failure

he took his face mind to failure
;)

Very cool.
But Tom’s distorting the truth, as so many eventually do: He is talking about doing sets (squat) of 50 with 405.
Twenty-five years ago he told me, to my face, his best high-rep set with 315 was 51.
And this was ONE set.

Platz is a liar like most pro's. He likes to tell stories but that's all they are. Stories. He's a salesman selling his shtick which is his legendary legs because that's all he's got to sell.
Same with Yates. He's selling the (s)HIT kool aid when in fact he never trained like that in reality.
It's all smoke and mirrors.

yeah but I kind of believe it. Atleast close to 50. Maybe 40 so whatever he spiced it up maybe.
but still, to this day nobody really did his 525 in the fashion he did it for 23 reps. A strongman just did it for 24 reps but it wasnt really to that same dept in the same form imo. There was even a trend last year on social media people where trying to beat it but nobody did. But then again Platz had a squat suit on.

I've done 100 reps with 225 non stop, no racking until it was done. But I weighed 250lbs and all I could bench press was 350lbs.
And as bhanky will remind me, that was then and what you can do now is all that counts. ;D

Do they even mention 1980 MrOlympia in Sydney?
Just asking for a friend 😜

Srs question, who wins in a fight, prime Dorian or prime Tom?

Srs question, who wins in a fight, prime Dorian or prime Tom?
Nice try, but this is not a srs question Pam.
It is a good question though because as I have learned styles make fights.
Dorian is bigger. That’s the only difference i see between them. Strength is a wash, intensity would be a tie.
I can see this playing out where each man tries to use his strength to his advantage. I would have to imagine Tom having the advantage because even though both were intense trainers Dorian was often injured, while Tom never sustained physical injuries. Also Tom would seem to have better endurance as he would go full blown and well past failure.
I’m not questioning Dorian’s ability or desire/focus but it seems like Platz would somehow figure out a way to wrap his legs around Dorian’s neck and choke the life out of him.
I do want to note that I’m assuming Dorian never takes advantage of the Tom Platz wig, because if he does there is no question he destroys Tom Platz.

Both legendary for their brutal training which made them famous and ended their careers.

Very cool.
But Tom’s distorting the truth, as so many eventually do: He is talking about doing sets (squat) of 50 with 405.
Twenty-five years ago he told me, to my face, his best high-rep set with 315 was 51.

I clearly remember an article in MD where he said he trained quads every other week, he did "just" TWO sets of 50 with 405. Said he lowered his reps through the year until he did a max single. Then he rode on a bicycle for a couple of weeks, "that's when the quads came out."
In that article he said he was now clean and said he used vanadyl sulphate, "it gave me the same type of skin texture as roids, not quite, but close." AFAIK he didn't sell it and it was used by a lot of people, even pros who weren't clean, like Titus. Now it's nowhere to be seen. Platz also said he used "ox bile" with fatty meals. It's kind of like taking TUDCA today, which does do something. Bostin Loyd said he was adviced by an old-school pro to use ox bile, it would help when using orals and it's plausible at least.
I used to think Platz was cool. Now I mostly think he is a clown. You can see he is acting during his monologues, just rehearsed shit. Comes across as fake. And anyone training like him would be thrown out of most gyms, but Platz had the thighs, and
the rest of the credentials.
And he's all over the place with his gear dosages, one time he says he did 200mg of Deca a week, and another he said 1400mg of Deca (200mg per day). He sure had the cheeks of 1400mg LOL.

Fuque Waters. I hope a horde of Phallustinian Midgets assfuck him to Hades. Islime is not to be trust let alone fostered as though it were a civilized thing. Fuque you Roger Waters you pasty-faced dung humping shitbag. A pox upon you and your kind.

Nothing today is remotely in the balllark of the old school Sportpharma Vanadyl - little blue pills. Not sure if they were “adulterated” or not but they were legit. There isn’t anything remotely close today

Not a chance in blue hell he ever did 50 with 405.
He told me his best at 600-plus was 635 for 12 several weeks before the (I think) 1985 Olympia.
Back when we spoke semi-frequently I would press him on tales of his squatting prowess. As clear as if five minutes ago I recall him looking me square in the eye and saying he’d done 51 with 315. And for one set. He then exclaimed he was toast after this feat.
He also told me, at his biggest and strongest (mid-Eighties), on an average day, he could manage a set of 10 with 600 (I would imagine he meant, specifically, 585, or six plates/wheels).
In these later years I have noticed Tom becoming a bit too scripted and presenting of a character rather than being “real”.
Concerning drug usage, who knows. I never discussed this with him. But like most retired pros, I would wager he isn’t entirely truthful with what and how much.

Im only a few minutes in to this video and Doz is definitely a better interview guest than host. He's interrupted Tom a dozen times.
And having listened to more of it.... listening to Tom is exhausting.
