Unfortunately I think Wesley has that nerve damage that so many bodybuilders suffered. His inner calves/gastrocs are going, and that's a first sign.
It's not that noticable right now, but I can see it and it will be bad and his calves will go
then his lower back will probably go too. That's the muscles this nerve damage affects mostly it seems.

This Wesley is overall better than 2023 Bumstead. He looks fantastic. So glad he's getting his just due.

I'd say Wesley's lack of calves is pretty damning for Classic. If he had calves he'd be the obvious top guy.

Crisper than Ramon in fact, who's posing now - he's not as sharp right now but he's my fave in terms of shape though - still my pick for the win

You could at least make a case for Derek winning. Better structure and a far superior back.
With Vissers there is no case. It's not to say he didn't look great, all the top 4 did, but Vissers just didn't look better in any way over Ramon.

Vissers does have a truly classic look though. Peaked biceps , or at least higher than shoulders, large pecs, a tight waist, even if he's a little wide in the hips. Ripped quads but not overwhelming in size.
Draw backs: high lats and smaller calves.

I thought Ramon probably should have won too but I've been told that Wesley's conditioning when you see it up close is what did it for him. A buddy of mine there told me it's Munzer-like when he hits poses. I thought Wesley definitely won some shots against Ramon. I disagree with you about Derek having a case. To me, he had no case.

I was being a touch dramatic perhaps. Arnold actually said Wesley reminded him of big Lou which I wasn't sure if it was meant as a compliment or a diss.
I don't think Arnold had a classic physique. He was just a big dude with some very impressive body parts who just happened to compete and dominate (same with Sergio) in the golden era. To me a classic physique is more guys Robbie Robinson, Zane and before them the OG Steve Reeves.
Vissers has too many weaknesses for the classic division. Some have already been mentioned, wide waist, high lats, atrophied calves. He also has straight up and down quads which have no pop and an ugly rib cage which sticks out too much when he does a vacuum. His physique is still very impressive, but his type of physique is better suited to open not classic.

It’s good to see Wesley win. I like his physique. It’s a shame about the calves and his left lat is off balance with the right, probably injuries that are going to rapidly worsen.

And with the greatest respect Broseph, that kind of sums up my problem with him winning. If we're back to Classic being about the biggest mass rather than the best shape, or that conditioning with a poor shape can win (hello Hadi) then we might as well push them all into the Open category. Nobody can convince me that Vissers had the best shape onstage with those turnip thighs and bhanky waist - one of the others with their much superior shape should have won IMHO :)

Hadi can still get better on the back shots. From the front, he would not be embarrassed in any era. I hope he brings this package or even a little tighter package to the O. I don't think there is anything he can do to beat Lunsford even though he blows Lunsford away in my opinion. The only way Lunsford loses is if they go with a Samson, Andrew Jacked or Krizo. Or if Big Ramy turns back the clock to 2014. LOL.
