gotta figure out my mainaince first and then add either 50 cals according to mentzer or 10% according to big paul and friends for lean gains only

most everyone says train 3-5 days per week and not every goddamn day
i might be able to do a 2 on/1 off split
maybe...
i only trianed bis today and i do not train legs so maybe everyday isn't so bad
today i did barbell curls, hammer ropes and dumbbell spider curl
my spider curl is pretty fucking strong 40 pound bells for 7 reps to failure
i gotta feeling i'll be able to work up to 60-65 pound bells for 5-8 which is my rep range, if i get there i will have VERY LARGE BICEPS 8)

When my diet is on point about 2400. I've been hovering at 172lbs lately. I want to get to 164lbs where I was surprised how good I looked for natural guy that isn't a bodybuilder. When I say fuck it I wonder if I hit 3500 plus. I can eat like a drunken 400lbs man.
I use a calorie counter on my phone. It's the Lose It app. It's free and easy to use. Works amazing. If I do it for just two weeks without fail I lose weight. The only flaw I see with it that it counts walking and running pretty accurately but it gives me far too much credit for lifting. Maybe if you're doing volume, drop sets, supersets, tri sets and giant sets it's accurate. Truth be told a typical lifting session using heavy weight and low sets are not calorie burners. If you want to try the Lose It app it's icon is an orange scale. There are other apps that call them self Lose It.

When I bother to track, it puts me in that range.
If I add two potatoes + oats, that gets me to about 2800 ish. If I don't add those, I'm at like 2000-2100, with 160-220 grams of protein, mostly healthy fats.
The other day was something like this:
5 organic eggs
1/2 avocado
cup greek yogurt
small amount of potatoes
elk burger
egg
slice cheese
avocado/saurkraut
2 slices of dave's killer bread
4-6 oz salmon
roasted broccoli (roast about 2lbs every sunday and just add to meals during the week)
sweet potato
shake - 50g of whey, almond butter, blueberries, maybe 20g collagen
That's pretty much the frame work. If bother to make overnight oats the night before, I can do an 800-900 cal breakfast easy.....all depends what I'm trying to do.
If I'm doing any endurance stuff, for example, my cals go up because I'm always hungry, etc
I'm kind of 80/20 - 80% of the time, eat good stuff, but will enjoy myself as well if the right burger presents itself. Just now, someone sent us some Georgetown Cupcakes for the holidays, so I had two "preworkout" lol.

If you want to talk about Mentzer you came to the expert. During his peak competitive career he used one to two work sets per exercise. He also did two to four exercises a bodypart. For his Mr. America win he used a whole body routine three days a week. After that he split his body in two for a two way split and trained four days a week. When Frank Calta came out with rotation for recuperation Mentzer went to that split training body parts directly once or twice week. It looked like this, Monday: Legs, chest and Triceps. Wednesday: Back, shoulders and biceps. The next week he rotated. Monday: Back, delts and biceps. Wednesday: legs, chest and triceps. Friday: Back, delts and Biceps. The workouts he tried to push on those he trained when he retired was something he never did when he was competing. It must have been nice to train a client for 25 minutes then say I will see you in 8 days.

I would add 100g of protein and remove 100 from the carb.
But diets work for individuals differently, but you do have to stay with one long enough to see what actually works.

Honestly dj you want huge biceps dump all the curls and do chin ups with a pause at the top and bottom of each rep for a couple seconds then on the last rep hold the negative as long as you can until you are straight armed for each set. And keep making the negatives longer. Your bis will get as big as they possibly can get.

most sources say one needs .5 to 1 gram of fat per kilo so that puts my max allowed fat at 72 grams so i'm still in range

also my arms look different at 15 1/4 than they did at the same measurement back in 2015 i have photo graphic proof of this in fact

Training the whole body in a comprehensive manner is the most brutal training anyone can do. A split is much easier. I've have made quick gains using a three day a week whole body routine but it's hard to do long term. I know some do a very limited whole body routine and it's sustainable. If you want to train like a the guys in the 40's and 50's it's brutal. This is an example of what I use to do. I can do it hard for about three weeks then I'm shot.
Power cleans 3 x3 then 1x1
Squats 2 x 8 then 1 x 1
Standing leg curls 2 x 12
Flat bench 2 x 8 then 1 x 1
flies 2 x 10
chins 2 x max
Seated pulley cable row with a V shaped handle 2 x 12
military press 2 x 8
Dumbbell delt laterals 2 x 10
Weighted dips 2 x 10
barbell curls 2 x 10
calf raises standing 2 x 15
weighted lower back hyper extensions 2 x 15
neck work 2 x 20
Gripper work
I would do the above three days a week. I would back off from goal weight in the various exercises by roughly 5lbs to 10lbs counting back three weeks. Each work out there would be an increase. So the first week or two I wasn't at max weight but by week three I was sucking wind. It's a brutal way to train but it works. The best part is how strong you get. For example my chins were weak but doing them three times a week brought quick gains. Same with all exercises repeated three times a week. If you missed and only could get in two sessions for the week you were still progressing.

You claim that your going to build 15 pounds of pure muscle in 8 weeks and said your already 3.5lbs there. Train your legs for 8 weeks and you might get there. You can always take a break of a few weeks and start again.

i just can not train my legs longer than 6-8 weeks
the only thime i evver trained them for longer was when i had a fit polish female trainer train them and that is the goddamn truth!!!
i've gained 3.5 and my arms are up 1/4 inch shoulders 1/2 inch
that photo was from dec 2022 and i weighed 177.5 water logged WITH ZERO MUSCLE DETAIL SEPERATION
this time i will have lots of detail and seperation
test is TRUE TRT ie. 75 mgs sust weekly, it's there for normal male funcitoning and to give some estrogen

as a natty i ate slightly bove maintaince and added 5 pounds bw while losing 1% bf in 6 weeks so i added 6.5 pounds of lean muscle AS A NATTY
i'll gain lean quality mass now
why?
1. keeping close track of cals and nutrients
2. taking the correct drugs ie. very low trt test with 50 drol and 20 var
3. training correctly and not overtraining
i'll be spider curling the 60-65 pounders for 5-8 reps and db side lateraling the 75-80 pounders for 5-8 reps by the end of 6-8 weeks, and..... that will add LOTS OF LEAN MASS ON THE DELTS AND BIS ;)

i've gained 3.5 and my arms are up 1/4 inch shoulders 1/2 inch
that photo was from dec 2022 and i weighed 177.5 water logged WITH ZERO MUSCLE DETAIL SEPERATION
this time i will have lots of detail and seperation
test is TRUE TRT ie. 75 mgs sust weekly, it's there for normal male funcitoning and to give some estrogen
my anabolic drivers are ABOMBS and VAR

hungar got the best of me so went out and got a pork and potatoe pre made meal which was 644 cals and chocolate nut sticks and ate half the pack which was another 500 cals so a 1144 surplus but this won't hurt me and i plan to eat a cheat meal every 5 days

How many have died from cancer and heart disease though compared to the ones that lived to old age? Are there guys that juiced for 50 years? Hell yes but how many have had heart attacks, strokes, liver problems, kidney problems and prostate? Is being obese a health risk? You know the answer but of course someone will bring up their fat grandmother. Yes, taking steroids is a health risk.

Amazing how many steroid users have to be on trt for life. I'm 65 and I'm in the normal range for test. I will admit I was low at one point. The endocrinologist said I could increase my natural test if I got leaner. Never heard that before. Lost fat and sure enough went into the normal range.
