Founder and CEO Mike Grondahl detailed a history of rampant abuse at the company and alleged it misrepresented its financials during a recent interview with controversial right-wing X user Libs of TikTok.
This comes after weeks of calls for boycotts of the brand after the company canceled the membership of a Planet Fitness gym goer after speaking out about a biological male in the women's locker room.

Planet Fitness lost the plot
Instead of having those "Lunk alarms" and allowing and promoting Trannies, Non.Binary and Low-test people in their gyms, they should have focused on the GymBros instead of pushing them away to other gyms.

Get rid of the bodybuilders , powerlifters and sell dirt cheap memberships to people who workout a few times a year. The membership is so cheap, they don't cancel. Planet Fitness raises membership fee for first time since 1998
National gym chain Planet Fitness is hiking the cost of its basic membership for the first time in 26 years.
A no-frills membership for new customers will cost $15 per month, up from the $10 it had been priced at since 1998. The price hike will go into effect this summer. Current members, who joined at $10 per month, will continue to pay that amount until the membership expires, the fitness company said in its first quarter earnings call Thursday.
The 50% price hike comes after price-testing costs in multiple markets. "We use a disciplined data-driven approach to determine the best balance between the higher dues while minimizing loss of membership. Based on our learnings, we decided to change the price of the classic card to $15," PlanetFitness CEO Craig Benson said on the earnings call.

Many chain gyms make it difficult to cancel. They farm out their collections and billings to a separate entity. You can't just tell them at the gym you're cancelling or click a button on their website. You call a number and get put on hold for a long time.

Crazy. I even cancel most orders I make for things I objectively need. Feels bad being poor.

This very hassle is why I don't want to join one of these places.

Its a low enough amount where people don't really notice or care about but it also makes them feel good about having a gym membership. A lot of off-grid and homeless people get memberships because they can have access to a clean shower and soap along with getting in shape
