I wonder what natural test levels were in the 20’s before plastics, seed oils, and almond butter.

To be fair, he wasn't a huge guy. He was DJ sized, sub 6" wrists, and arms in the 15.5"-16" range according to the old ads he was in. It's the old natural double edged sword problem. Do you pick lean or do you pick big, because you're not getting both.

Here's the book from the system "Maxalding" he was part of, it's building through weightlifting, then a bunch of that old school "muscle control" / isometrics work -

Great neck on the guy.  Hankins wrestled and blasted steroids for 20 years and couldn't get a neck close to the natural guy from 1920.

The YouTube channel GOLDEN ERA BOOKWORM. Had an article on Bobby Pandour.

He worked out nonstop with extremely light weights. Like basically walked around with 5lb dumbells all day long. Whenever he had a free moment he would do nonstop curls or laterals or raises. Like hundreds of them it was just a part of his everyday life. He also ate like shit.

These guys were muscular but not huge. The average man back then was more muscular, probably due in part to their diet not having processed foods, saturated fats and sugar in everything but they also had twice as much testosterone.  So it wouldn't be much to add 10 or 15 lbs and look massive by comparison.

Some people just have excellent genetics.

Highly unlikely barely literate gym rats in the 1800's were injecting 'cadaverous hormones'  ;D

Saturated fats are important for hormone production.

Pandour weighed around 160 lbs. Bodybuilding is an illusion that the mass monsters have forgotten about.

Amazing how fans of steroids claim everyone with a muscular body uses. They say this to stroke their ego when they look like crap without the drugs. Yes, some very muscular physiques in bodybuilding in the past and athletes in general were built without drugs.

Another point are bodybuilders who claim they are clean but when pressed say they are on TRT.  Then you learn they are injecting test at a rate higher than any sane doc would prescribe.

It's called confirmation bias. If you are on PEDs you need to make sure that you imply everyone else with muscles must be too.
