Glitch causing massive airline delays. I’ve been stuck in SFO since 7pm yesterday and the next flight to Seoul is tomorrow- 31 hours from now. Getting hotel vouchers are nearly impossible at this point because all flights and airlines must be affected it seems. Effecting emergency services and private business too.
BB related - watched the Phil Heath movie. Was so-so. Not really a fan of his but honestly think if that hernia hadn’t gotten worse, he would have won a couple more O’s.

They are saying this particular incident with the airlines was not a hack but there's been several hacks which have caused significant issues across different industries. The car dealerships had one last month that shut them down for over a week. Earlier this year a medical clearinghouse was hacked, and payments were delayed for months.

Got caught up in traffic as there was a bad accident and nobody’s GPS got the road closure so we were all doing circles. Caused bedlam.
FWIW I am told it was an insider who forced an update which changed how it read memory and lead it to crash everything. Apparently this is related to Rust…….
So it seems corporate sabotage by insiders. This doesn’t mean any leaders at Rust would have knowledge about this. This Mr Robot where rogues have access to really fuck things up.

A lot. I never use all my American before they expire. At this point I just use them to fly my mom and dad down twice a year. Delta and United never expire so that tally keeps growing.

Why United and not Delta?
Delta would have included an additional stop and lay over. United was FLL-SFO-ICN. Delta would have split the flight up with a stop in Houston, Ft Worth, or somewhere else and added an extra 5 hours travel time to the trip with that stop and lay over.
And the guy that employs me for these photo gigs gets better deals from United.

I’d have probably opted for Delta still if I was paying, though you’re not. I flew United a few times over the past two years for Chicago trips. I was pleasantly surprised that they had TV in their first class for a domestic flight. Not sure when they started that but it will cause me to fly them for direct flights in the future. Headed to Italy in September and may look into them for that. I did Polaris on a 767 to France back in 2016-2017 and it was not bad. The configuration of the plane was different due to it being a 767 and not 330 like Delta One but it was still good. Lufthansa was the best international first class I’ve done.
I see you fly American sometimes. I hate that airline. Flew their first class to England but I think it was a partner airline, British airways. Their US domestic is right up there with Spirit. Flew them to Bahamas back in April. First class had no TVs and didn’t serve food to Miami even though it was close to a three hour flight. Delta domestic shits on all carriers. United chasing them now I guess. Good for them.

American is not great by any means. You would think they would take note from their partnership with Qatar and upgrade a bit. But they don’t. That’s why I only use my remaining miles for my parents.
United and Qatar are what I normally fly for long haul trips. Polaris is very good. But still no matter what airline or amenities you get can only watch so many movies, read so many books and sleep before you are ready to get off.
