Title: How much?
Post by: OlympiaGym on August 05, 2024, 03:34:26 AM
Of your net worth do you expect to lose today?

I’m hoping for no more than a quarter but bracing for as much as a third.

The better question is how much can you buy on the dip. I sold my house I hope the market crashes bad so I can buy low.

Fucken Democrats.  I was just about to take money out to pay off my house but I hesitated two weeks ago. Now it's crashing.

What's going on? Why is it crashing now? I've heard it's recession fears but I thought that had improved.

Who can predict, but if the Fed decides they have been late to the party and does an interest rate cut or two (finally), we could start racing in the other direction.

I’ve no plan on retiring anytime soon so I’m not worried.

This.  I bought my home in 2008 and my two rentals in 2009. When the market was at the rock bottom.  I don’t know kink we will ever see a crash that bad.  But I kind of hope so.

People manufacturing recession fears out of thin air.   The market is supposed to crash every two years according to them.

we bought a house for 45k and sold it for 118k 5 years later, we put a small conservatory on it that cost 3k thats it.

we did well on properties, we paid 170k for our current home, probably get over 380k now

One reason is the market thought Trump was going to destroy Biden and this was good for businesses. Now with Harris polling way better than Biden the markets are freaked out, because she would be bad for business.  I don't know how anyone could vote for this laughing retard

I made most of my rental portfolio off the 2008 crash.

Would love to see it happen again.

You nailed it.  The massive electronic printing of money to pay for spending bills is the big concern. It causes wild inflation along with the declared war on gas, coal and oil.

People think because they are not retiring soon that it doesn't matter if their retirement savings invested in the stock market crashes. Every major business is traded in the stock market and if it crashes, prices for what they provide will soar as they lose money. $15 dollar big Mac is coming, lol. As of 8-6-2024 at 1PM Eastern time it rose about 500.  I wonder how long it will last?  Are people buying up crashing stock as a gamble?
