Title: Standing Desk?
Post by: bhank on September 15, 2024, 04:40:58 AM
Anyone use an adjustable height standing desk? The new desk adjusts in height so you can stand or sit claim to be healthier anyone have one? They even have them with treadmills. I feel like I spend too many hours sitting. Don't want to stand all day either.

Drafting stool + standing desk. The stools can usually be adjusted to the point where you're pretty much standing, but there if you need a little support. And they're not so comfortable that you'll want to lounge in them all day.

I don't get adding a bike or treadmill to the standing desk concept. My mind would wander too much.

I have pool table chairs that are taller and very comfortable I was thinking one of those. But I also like to sit so adjustable. I just have lower back and hip mobility issues and was wondering if maybe it was partially from sitting too much. Just saying we are all clearly using computers we have to ask how many hours are we sitting and would it be better not to be sitting so much. Then of course the next step is an actual treadmill under the desk which I hadnt even though about until today

?

Flight case? I have 6 monitors and they are heavy so I also liked that the adjustable are solid metal desk. My current wood desk is collapsing under the weight

I have had a varidesk for a few years but literally just started using it about 3 weeks ago. I like it and have the standing pad as well. I take my shoes off at my desk.

100%. Growing up, we had a drafting table that could more or less covert to a standing desk, so I grew up standing to do a lot of school work, etc..... Later I switched to a big fluffy desk chair / standard desk combo because that's what everyone had. I started to get nasty lower back pain after a few years, Traditional exercise helped some, but switching back to a high desk with stool helped the most. It took a bit, but the back pain more or less went away.

Yeah was thinking about the standing pad as well

Just noticing squats make everything hurt and it made me think perhaps improving my daily ergonomics might help make things less stiff

This dummy starts one of these benign threads whenever the heat that he brings on himself gets too thick.

Why would you even need a desk or a standing desk for that matter. You are unemployed and claim you trade stocks.

You fall out of a chair sitting.

Have you thought about getting a wheelchair or a mobility scooter?
