Title: Highly Processed Food As Addictive As Hard Drugs
Post by: SOMEPARTS on October 10, 2024, 07:50:52 PM

Steroids did not make the list...but apparently Twinkies and fast food are nearly as addictive as heroin for some people.

I know there is that show 600lb life, but I’d want to see these people actually waddle into an intervention.

Fat people aren’t sad enough for interventions on TV though apparently.

There isn’t enough shock value in a Twinkie addiction.

Ultra processed foods are not addictive. They are just very convenient for lazy people too dumb to think and too dumb to read what the ingredients are.

And profitable for the food industry. The "addiction" lie is used by fat dumb pos individuals to portray themselves as "victims" of big food companies. It's not their fault they are so gross and unhealthy!
They just can't help it, because they are "addicted".

I call bullshit on this.

Cocaine is one helluva drug once it gets its claws into you. No fucking way Cheetos are more addictive.

Plus - it ain't "Processed foods" in general - it's specific chemicals they put in them to make foods "more-ish"

In one of those "My 600 lbs life" shows saw a 21 yo chick that claimed eating only McDonalds at every meal since she could remember. Parenting of peace.

yeah well most people in US are counted as obese by BMI so must be addicting since people can't put the fork down even though they know they should

You can't compare like that at all in my opinion. Because the shorter term consequences are much worse with drugs and lack of shit food won't land you in thep psychiatric ward or lockup. Nor have you suck aids infested cock for a Big Mac.
The mechanisms are the same but there's levels to this  ;D

As an example, meth will increase your dopamine by 10,000%, maybe a Big Mack can do it by 200% like a cigarette.

But like I always say, the solution to drug dependency or obesity is more and better drugs, unless food supply or drug supply is cut. Look at the modest, but significant effects of Ozempic. There's no need for "willpower" this way, you just don't feel like eating. Willpower is a failing concept.

Ozempic
Metformin
"Optimized hormones" like in a "sport HRT" fashion, GH a must have
Further appetite suppressant like stimulants (might help getting off your ass too in some cases).
Nicotine.
Other psych drugs if having "real" problems like severe depression.
