Article says Delta tried to contact the customer to see what happened. Has there been any news on how the handled this?

I have personally only once asked someone to either change a T-shirt or wear it inside out..
was in a fitness studio where i worked in Germany & the Guy was wearing a T-Shirt with a German Soldier wearing the Waffen SS Helmet.
he accepted a free T-Shirt from us but never came back.
