Harrison Ford is wealthy today. He got lucky. The majority of wannabee actors never make it. For many years, he supported his fledging acting career by teaching himself carpentry and working as a carpenter to supplement his income. This is something he enjoys so much, he still does carpentry today... only as a hobby and no longer a profession.
