There's all this talk now that jon jones is the greatest fighter ever.
Don't get me wrong, he's,good. Very very good but I think a prime Fedor ruins him.
-
Don't think there's any debate really... whether you like him or not, juiced or not, wifebeater or not, a bit of a bipolar piece of shit, but his records speaks for itself.
-
None jones would have smashed fedors face in
If they fought in a cage fedor looked like shit after he started fighting in America
-
Bruce Lee was the greatest.
-
Emelianko was great ,it is a shame he never joined UFC but rather stayed with Strikeforce and Bellator .
Jones would most likely win.
-
If I were Jones, I would retire now. Sure, he would have to listen to some that would say that he ducked Aspinal, but who cares.
The longer he keeps fighting, eventually he is going to lose. If he fights Aspinal, and loses, he probably wouldn't want to retire on a loss, so why not just do it now, after another title defense?
-
He is a black man
-
Pound for pound?
I thought peak Anderson Silva was untouchable.
-
I liked prime Anderson Silva, more exciting fighter and era imo
To me Jones is boring, he gets the job done, like a chris Cormier physique, nothing stands out

Hard to pick winner :
Khabib,St.Pierre ,Silva
Just like Lebron vs Jordan or whatever sports
-
Did he get it from Paddy Maginty?
-
At light heavy yes at heavyweight no he hasn't done enough at heavyweight

Aspinall lol.
Jones has fucked with far scarier dudes than Tom Aspinall.

Jones has fought many good fighters, but nobody like Aspinall.
It is understandable that he is ducking him, it will ruin Jones legacy without any chance of returning.

Then why is he running faster than usain bolt to get away from Aspinall ?

agree tom has fought sloppy hws with no skilsl and shitty chins jones has faced all style plus tom is from england aka -mexico of the atlantic fuck tom
ill be rooting for jon to smash his face in and show why america is number one
-
Right now, the only "loss" on Jones's record, was that disqualification for the illegal 12-6 elbow strikes. Any real mma fan knows that, so he's basically never lost.
I'd say, unless he needs money, now is the perfect time to retire as an undefeated legend. Nobody gets to claim that. However, if he keeps fighting, he is guaranteed to lose eventually.

Still doesn't answer why Jones is running & avoiding Tom at all costs.
I'd of thought he'd be eager to prove his dominance.
Please remind me what America heavyweight boxing champion you have currently?
-
No
-
Jones just said he didn’t want to fight up and coming fighters, he wants to fight “established” fighters
-
At light heavy yes at heavyweight no he hasn't done enough at heavyweight
from mr 0-3
this matters
fuck off Brian
-
I think that GSP and Jon Jones are probably the 2 best fighters of all time.
But yes, I am a Fedor fan.
-
I would say top 10.
-
Only one man can knock Jon out .

that is true we have no good american hws anymore, i dont think jones is runnine from tom this fight will be made next year. i would not be surprised at all if jon beats him tom has never been in a tough or long fight all his wins in the past three years have been fast . also tom has never fought anyone with the wrestling that jon jones has and also he is a piece of trash from europe

Whatever Tom maybe he's not a cheat & Scumbag druggie as Jones is.
How many bans / drug related issues / leaving the scene of a crash only
To return & collect his drugs - ignore the pregnant woman.
Glad you support such a piece of American Black Trash.
Says much about you.
-
yes, easily. Guy is an absolute killing machine, no one beats him, and that's with him sabotaging himself constantly, the most well rounded fighter we have seen by al long way, Silva never fought his level of competition consistently.
-
He's the best MMA fighter p4p of all time and it's not even close. Prime Jon embarrasses prime Fedor.
-
You guys know I'm a Jon Jones guy. That said, he needs to fight Tom Aspinal and win to be considered the GOAT. He's obviously running and I see why.

Tom although hes a great fighter hasnt beaten anyone of the calibre of Jon Jones
He doesnt need to fight Tom to be considered the greatest

Lol the irony right, “oldschoolfan” calling Tom euro trash but the beloved Jones is the biggest pile of garbage with a rap sheet as long as bhanky’s ailments

Jon moved up to heavyweight and delayed 3 years not fighting Francis Ngannou. Fought Ciryl Ganye (who)? Fought an 42 year old Stipe who has been out 3 years and last lost to Francis Ngannou by a brutal KO. So he hasn't proven himself at heavyweight in my eyes or many others to be called the GOAT. Also, if we're being honest, he got his ass whooped by Dominique Reyes.
Tom's hands are fast as fuck. Jon's are not. In fact slow ass Stipe was landing. Tom would fuck his face up. Jon has a 4 inch reach advantage over Tom. Tom is taller by an inch and about 15lbs heavier. He's a natural heavyweight.
Tom is 6 years younger, has a ground game. Tom's fights average literally 2 min and a couple seconds. This means Jon has nothing to scout with. And it's not like Tom is a knockout artist like Ngannou. He can submit you, or beat you up. Like I said, I see why Jon is running. He hasn't proven much to me at heavyweight. Fight and beat Aspinal and he's the GOAT. No one other than Ngannou is beating Tom and Ngannou is never going back to the UFC.
-
lets not forget how Jon never gets warned for eye poking
I watched the highlights of Sat Fight and he was in the guys eyes on multiple occasions
-
Jones's only weakness (which is really a weakness for anyone) which would be to get caught by someone with crazy knockout power (Ngannou) and be stopped completely ko'd immediately or, hurt so badly that he is no longer defending himself.
He is too good, to let him hang around until the championship rounds and wear his opponent out, or out score them on the judges scorecard. Even the few fights that went his way via decision, were more based upon the fact that almost always, a close decision is going to go to the defending champ.
However. If he keeps fighting, it's inevitable that he is going to lose eventually. It's simple mathematics.
The one thing I will give Jones credit for, is that he isn't afraid to hold Dana White's feet to the fire, for more money.
Especially after the money these clowns just got for that boxing farce.
I read that this last PPV, was the 4th highest gate in UFC history. I believe that Jones will fight anyone you want him to, for the right price.

Yeah and UFC never caves ok fighter pay. I hear Jon got 10-13 million for that fight. He'll need about 30-40 for Tom. Or he'll go higher to intentionally price himself out.

A young hungry fighter is who dethrones the "greatest" ... like what happened with Anderson Silva.
Jones is just gaming the system like he always has.

Hope he gets bank and chokes Tommy out in the 1st round. Then tells Dana to go fuck himself as he bolts for the PFL to fight Francis.
-
He might be the GOAT but his constant loop of masquerading as a very rational and intelligent individual in public appearances followed by getting done for anything he can, whether it be DV, DUI or failed doping tests makes it hard to really label him as such.
-

Silva would have gotten destroyed by jones In there prime
I am positive peirara would taken his fucking head off as well Silva was an arrogant prime Donna I remember when he thought he was Roy jones and Weidman knocked him out then the asshole broke his leg in the rematch Silva was nothing but an arrogant piece of shit

Oddly enough, I think that Big Foot Silva would have been a very tough fight for Jon Jones. Big Foot was tall... strong.. awkward.. but dangerous. A scary opponent.
Jones probably would’ve won, but Big Foot had that awkward body type that’s very difficult to replicate in training sessions.

Often the record tally doesn’t reflect an athlete’s ultimate placing in a GOAT assessment.
Jon is an extremely successful MMA competitor in the UFC.
Beyond that, it doesn’t mean much of anything.
As I have said countless times, a great (successful) fighter just hasn’t fought the right (wrong) challenger.
All the greatness (skill) of Jon might amount to zero when applied to …
Fighting is a strange arena of sport.
