You don't think it would have gone into a pattern like it has in recent years?

Good point...  let's say Flex won in '98.  Would he have ridden the wave and continued to compete and win Olympias until he ultimately died of kidney failure?

Perhaps God made Flex lose in 98 in order to save his life. :)  Maybe that's also what Ronnie means when he says it's God's will that he be Mr. Olympia. :D

Well I think the Bros Wieder would have perfered to get it to be in a pattern, but objectivley speaking, when you judge a contest by who shows up to win, and not who is the champ... This is the list I have ...

I think the only champs that really repeated justly were Arnold and Haney

I didn't intend it to be funny, honestly!  Flex had to stop competing due to kidney problems.  But the big one always eluded him.  I was just wondering out loud if the glory of being Mr. O would've caused him to continue competing even though it would've been ruining his health at the same time, due to his kidney disease.

I think if Haney decided to he would rule through all of those years as well.

Knowing how hard it is for bodybuilders to quit when they look bad, it must be even harder to quit near one's peak :-\

If Flex won in 93, the mass monster age would have been over. And Espn would probably still be running bbing shows.

Flex probably might not have run into his kidney problems if he stayed in the 218-25 pound weight range.
