I'm not sure why, but with every other story this guy tells into a camera with a straight face I get this strange feeling that it's all just completely fabricated :D

Not sure if Arnolds dad was so keen on "giving back" on the fugees, wasn´t he a full blown hard-core Nazi? :D

Maybe he's trying to rehabilitate his father's memory after he pissed on it by selling out to ADL.

I don't know anything about his father many Nazis were just 'regular people' who fell into a role by necessity. Just like it's easier for a Lebenese to become hezbollah than something else. Also the lower ranks didn't have information on everything happening like everyone has now.

Just seen interviews and seen claims that even peasants were recruited. In any country the fighting force probably isn't that clued into the history and the politics involved. They fight because someone told them to fight, they didn't analyze the whole thing. American soldiers went to Iraq not to do evil but the results have been horrific. Is this wrong? Would you say all SS were bad men morally? There was some afd poli who made the statement not all were bad, but I think he had to leave the afd. Probably not because the afd disagreed with the core statement.
I'm ears open since you sound quite a bit older than me plus were a military man 8)
EDIT:
A top far-right German politician says he will pull back from campaigning for the upcoming EU elections - although he will remain his party's lead candidate.
The latest controversy comes after the Alternative for Germany (AfD)'s Maximilian Krah told journalists that SS members weren’t automatically "criminals".
"It depends. You have to assess blame individually. At the end of the war there were almost a million SS. Günter Grass was also in the Waffen SS," he told La Repubblica and the Financial Times, referring to the German novelist who wrote The Tin Drum.
"Before I declare someone a criminal, I want to know what he did."

I think you´re probably refering to Björn Höcke who is actually still in their Party.
Over the years i have met many ex WW 2 Vets..from the Navy to Ex SS & stalingrad Vets ( I wrote before on here i was in a Hospital room with 2 )
My Wife´s Grandfather was in Russia & a prisoner there..his friend after the War Joined the Foreign Legion.
My wife & Father in Law spoke to me about him as i never met him.
from what they told me he had a Black Kepi so was an NCO ..Cpl Chef 15 year service but more likely a Sgt.
He was REP & dropped into Indochina. I would loved to have had a beer with him.

What do you think of the political need to condemn all who maybe point out positives of a shunned political party? You can say there are some good Vietnam vets or American Iraq vets but you can absolutely not do that with certain things like "Nazis." Even if most agree personally.

He's not wrong.
But once again people who are not smart enough to wrap their head around that concept are offended and now he has to step away for voicing a valid opinion.
We understand this about race and religion. Not ALL black people are criminals because some are. Not ALL muslims are terrorists because some are.
But when it comes to anything else we make these kinds of generalizations all the time. The CEO who was just murdered, well he mustve deserved it because he works for united health care. In 2020 all cops deserved to be treated like shit because of one cops actions.I could go on with examples. In the context of an SS soldier it's actually humorous to say "well, just because he was a nazi doesn't mean he's a bad person." But that doesn't mean its not true.

Damn, thats good!
Thank.you, sir.

Had Germany won the war they would be praised by historians.
