It's sickening to me that after all this time, nothing has changed. I think meaningful change would be a deathblow to the industry unless people changed their perception of an acceptable physique. For instance imagine Steve Reeves' physique became the standard. Say goodbye to all the drugs, coaches, amounts of food, personal trainers, supplement industry, raw powder makers, syringe and plug companies, and meal prep. You see what I'm saying?
This is why they'll never change. The people are to blame as well because they thirst for an unnatural hypermasculine physique. There's alot of money in exploiting someones lusts and ego . And just the idea that possibly you can get to that level with hard work and copious amounts of food and drugs in an age where the young people are more insecure and misguided as ever shows why bodybuilding is as popular than ever. And all this for what? Not health. Or even fitness. All to feed the ego. Fame. Glory. and Money.For a price...

If you took money out of the equation, in regards to the Open division and Classic physique. If we're being honest, using the old judging criteria from the 80s and early 90s, only 1/3 of the active pros would be pros. They use drugs and oils to try to overcome structural flaws. This is where the freaks come from. If you can't dazzle them with beauty, Dazzle them with ugly. That's where the art left. We have a more low brow population as opposed to then, meaning they don't have the sophisticated pallet to analyze and appreciate a Great physique. They want mass, lots of mass. Big and ripped with offensive rap or heavy metal. It's ok to like what you like, but this shit killed bodybuilding. It's very easy to extrapolate.
