Yep - in fact in the late 1800's mandatory schooling started in the USA as a means to get immigrants to conform to the "system". The literacy rate has been dropping ever since. Schools are a means of social control. The education part is primarily how to follow rules.

schools were also a great way to free up women to go to work, why do you think they are 9am until 3pm, perfect for wifey to get a job and pay tax.
